This fabulous apartment is in a great location on 8th Ave at 18th St, in the heart of Chelsea, perfect to navigate the city from. The building is only 4 stories and the apartment is a short 2 stairways up. The city outside is at your door step but the loft is an extremely quiet and peaceful refuge from the fast pace of the city. For romance and relaxation there is a slate covered wood burning fireplace, a beautiful marble bath with two person soaking tub, and separate floating glass shower.
For entertaining there is a large gourmet kitchen. There is some outside space too - a small Juliette balcony off the bedroom overlooking a quiet courtyard below. The bedroom is the ultimate in comfort and offers plenty of custom wood closets. The apartment has air-conditioning through out for those warm summer city nights.
Chelsea is an extremely desirable and safe neighborhood that offers great shopping, Manhattan's hippest gallery district, excellent restaurants, cinemas, gyms and gourmet food markets. Extremely convenient to all of New York City's best - and within walking distance of the High Line, Union Square, the Village, Meatpacking District and SoHo, Broadway, museums, galleries, and night clubs. The apartment is also very close to Chelsea Market (9th ave and 15th St), Whole Foods, Trader Joe's. Chelsea Wine Cellar on 7th Ave and 21st St has a great wine selection.
Subways within two blocks radius include the A, C, E, 1, 9 and L, and cabs are always available outside the front door.

About Susanna Mitchell
I've enjoyed a diversified life with careers in Environmental Science, entertainment, real estate and design. I live in New York but grew up in Canada and Bermuda, two wildly different climes! When it comes to property I tend to prefer the extremes....extreme country, or extreme city, and that's what I love about NYC. You can't get more city that this!
Susanna Mitchell purchased this Condo in 1998
Why Susanna Mitchell chose Chelsea
It is an oasis in the city. A perfect location near to all transportation links. It's spacious (as NYC apartments go) and has a quiet bedroom with Juliette balcony in the back. The living area and kitchen are well furnished and in the winter, the wood burning fireplace is an added bonus.

Perfect location, clean with a great neighbourhood!!
We had the best time staying here. Easy check in and check out, clean and spacious apartment. Felt bigger than appeared in pictures. Spacious and clean for 4 of us to stay. Chelsea is the perfect neighbourhood, close to all the fun and easy access to public transit. It was nice to be in a less touristy part of town. Would highly recommend staying here and we hope to be back.
Comfortable city stay
We had a great few days in NYC. Initial impressions were that the apartment was a little tired (I mean only a little) and darker than the pictures. But actually we were really comfortable and sharing with our 2 children, it was really perfect. It had all the amenities and functions you would need in a home and in a great location.
18th St subway is a 5 minutes’ walk at most serving most popular tourist areas in NYC.
Wendy, the cleaner, greeted us as we arrived and talked us through the important bits.
I would definitely recommend this property.
Thanks for having us.
Ps. Just one recommendation- consider brighter lighting in the Hall ie natural daylight bulbs.
A gem in a great area
We stayed for 8 nights and had a great time. Always enjoyed coming back to apartment which felt like home to us. Christine and Susanna set us up well. Location is great for site seeing, shopping, restaurants, exercise and transport. We would definitely come back and stay at the apartment again.
Nice apartment in a great neighborhood
My husband and I went to celebrate our 25th anniversary and we had a fabulous time. The apartment is in a great neighborhood close to walk to whatever you want to do. The Highline and waterfront are close by as are many delicious cafes and restaurants. We will definitely come back.
Great location! Lovely apartment!
My husband and I stayed for a week while attending The New Yorker Fest. It was an easy two flights up for our 64 and 71 year old legs! We really enjoyed the spaciousness of the apartment and the great location. When arriving home late at night the area was never deserted. Lots of restaurants, bars, bodegas, ice cream shops were open at midnight. Lots of people out walking so we felt very safe. Chelsea is a great location because it is between mid-town and the Village which makes it convenient to both. The kitchen was fully equipped although we did not cook. The washer/dryer was a nice amenity. The water pressure in the shower was great! We would definitely return.
Charming loft great location
We loved the location so close to the Highline, Chelsea Market, subways and cafes. The gelato roses on the corner are amazing! Our family of 3 spent 4 nights at the Chelsea loft during a hot week in September. It was a relief to have the air conditioning. Communication with the owner was very easy. Our flight arrived quite late but still the owner had someone meet us and show us the apartment. There was a repair required that was discovered just before our arrival. Although it couldn't be repaired before we arrived it was taken care of first thing the next morning at our convenience.
Building is on 8th Ave close to 18th Street It is located close to the 1/2/3/A/C/E subway stops. You can be anyway in Manhattan in minutes! On your doorstep are the wonderful High Line, numerous Art Galleries, the famous Chelsea Market with a huge assortment of goodies to eat & drink, the Hudson River Greenway where you can run/bike/walk along the Hudson River right up to the GW bridge & beyond!
