Great house and location
Needs a bit of upkeep especially in kitchen. Refrigerator and ice maker need repairs. Filtered water was mostly unavailable from refrigerator. Bathroom rules were a bit overwhelming too. But we loved being there anyway.
Awesome weeklong stay in Falmouth
Our family had a wonderful time in East Falmouth. The house was perfectly comfortable and convenient for a large family. Walking distance to beach, downtown, and Martha's Vineyard ferry. Our host was very helpful with local recommendations and info. 5/5 would stay again!
Wonderful home in perfect, quiet neighborhood
We had a wonderful time at this lovely home. As other reviewers have noted, it is very much like staying at the home of a friend. Our group of four adults and three kids aged 3-7 was so comfortable here. The location, in a quiet neighborhood, was ideal; we could walk to the beach and Falmouth Heights and drive easily to downtown Falmouth, the harbor area, and also to convenient strip malls for groceries/sundries/etc. The fact that the house is right on Little Pond was a huge plus. The kayak and canoe provided lots of fun and were not intimidating to use due to the smaller size of the pond. The back yard was great for three small children to run around in, and they also had a great time feeding the ducks and geese. The house was clean, the bedrooms are a good size, and the master bedroom especially was amazing. A few things that we particularly valued from this home were the wonderful basement that provided an extra bunk bed and a play area (and lots of toys) for the kids; the garage, which housed a ping pong table and even more fun kid stuff; and the back deck, which provided plenty of shade throughout the day. My father-in-law can't spend much time in the sun, and to him, this was invaluable in allowing him to stay outside basically the whole day and enjoy the views and weather without too much exposure. We loved staying here and hope to return if we're lucky enough to get to the Cape again!
The home was charming with everything and anything we could possibly need or want! IT WAS A HOME!
The whole experience was wonderful! From the kids ' daily duck feedings to relaxing in the very spacious home. There was something for everyone. My mom and dad enjoyed sitting on huge deck watching the water. The kitchen was fully equipped, bedrooms were comfy and the girls loved hanging out down in family room. There was more than enough room for the 8 of us . It was a quick walk to Falmouth Heights Beach. Quiet street. I would rent this home again.
Location is wonderful
I am not sure our trip could have gone better, and I didn't rate the place a 5 because of some age issues for a couple of things.
Basically, the draw blinds for the sliding doors out to the patio were not easily functional. A few times on of the slats would fall off. Opening them completely was not easy or simple.
The window shades for the master bath could have functioned smoother as well.
We struggled understanding how to operate the living room TV. Instructions were needed.
But the house was very nice otherwise, large and easy to use. We had 7 people (2 younger kids of 5 and 6). One teen with us and 4 adults.
The porch has two dining tables on it and a small rocking loveseat, so with the weather being great, we ate most dinners on the porch overlooking the pond. The view from the back of the house was very relaxing and appealing. I could almost the house 5 stars, just for the back yard and view.
The porch does have a propane grill which we used a few times.
The neighborhood is extremely peaceful. The teen and I ride bikes throughout the area 3-4 times.
The beach is walkable from the house.
I am not sure how many could sleep at the house but it is a lot more than 7. The basement opens up to the backside of the house, under the porch. It has a bum bed and a hideaway sleeper. The laundry room is there as well. We all slept on the top floor but didn't use one of the bedrooms upstairs, as we didn't need it.
The house is wonderful, and I could see us renting it again, when we want to come back to Cape Cod
The blinds for the three sliders on the main floor and the blinds in the master bedroom were replaced with new ones on July 8 2016. They had been previously ordered and are now installed. I appreciate comments from renters because I want everyone to be satisfied with their vacation experience. This is our future retirement home and I want everything to be fully functional and pleasing
Waterfront with views from most rooms
Bedrooms are clean and bright, beds comfortable. Very quiet street, short walk to ocean, yet still near restaurants and shopping. Large deck across back of house plus patio on the pond. We brought our small boat and launched off the owners l dock. There are swans, osprey and lots of ducks on pond.. The new kitchen is fully stocked. We had a great time and plan to rent again next year
Walk to Falmouth Heights Beach. Beach chairs are provided. The house is located on Miami Avenue with property owner traffic only. Very quiet.
