The tiny house is constructed on a custom 8.5’ x 24’ trailer and is approximately 200 sq feet–260 if you include the loft!
You'll enter through the big red gate at the end of the driveway to your private patio, and up 3 steps to the tiny house. The living area features a sofa bed that folds down like a futon and 32" smart TV with a Chromecast. The kitchen is fully equipped to cook a full meal: 5.2 cu ft. fridge with freezer section, 2 burner cooktop, and convection microwave that can bake as well. You'll find everything you need to make coffee or tea (selections of both included), and cooking basics. There's even a pull-out peninsula for extra counter, dining, or work space. Two folding stools are Tucked in a closet behind the ladder stairs.
There is a step down at the hall door to the laundry area with washer/dryer combo unit and a fully plumbed bathroom with plenty of space to lay out your suitcase, hang your clothes, and store your toiletries. Plus, you'll never have to worry about running out of hot water with the tankless water heater.
Climb up the ladder to the loft (if you're not comfortable with ladders, this may not be the best place for you) to the spacious bedroom with plenty of head clearance while seated, a queen memory foam mattress and luxurious linens. Both screened windows are operable for cross-ventilation.
The large wall of windows features a slider in the middle, opening up to the shared backyard. While you're here, we'll try to keep our presence out back to a minimum. You may catch a glimpse of our spirited Vizsla dog or toddler. Please feel free to enjoy some fresh herbs (basil, thyme, oregano, mint, and lavender) and tomatoes from the garden. The french doors and windows in our house are to our master bedroom and bathroom, but we keep our blinds closed ensuring privacy for us all.
History: We loved being Airbnb hosts so much a couple years ago with our guest room (now the nursery) that we spent the last 2.5 years since having kids figuring out a way to continue. Our vision of putting a tiny house in our backyard was born, we commissioned 2 architects, collaborated on the design, and saw it through to completion just recently. Needless to say, we are SO excited to finally have you! See our website thenestphx for more information.
