New house. Open floor plan with many high quality details. Quiet location with easy access to Stowe, Burlington, Trapp Family Lodge.

This house has great air circulation for comfort. Its surrounded by natural beauty. It has a great deck bordered by leafy trees.

The design is on three levels with two staircases. Theres in floor radiant heat including the mudroom. In addition, the master bath is bolstered with extra radiant heat in the floor. Both bathrooms have showers.

Washer and dryer included.

Includes a carport for parking.

About The Owner

Hi. I love to hike, cycle and xc ski. Thats why I chose this location for my new house. There are many trails and quiet roads in the vicinity.

I grew up in Switzerland where I developed a love of skiing and hiking at a young age. I speak german, swiss german, english and some french.

I also brought my love of crusty bread with me from Switzerland to Vermont. My business for the past 30+ years has been hearth bread baking.

The Owner purchased this house in 2018

Why The Owner chose Stowe

From my house, Trapp Family Lodge is less than a 10 minute drive; The views from there are gorgeous!

Waterbury Reservoir boat access is one mile away for great canoeing on its quiet water with nice scenery.

The town of Stowe is four miles in either direction. One way leads to town on a quiet gravel road. The other way leads past serval excellent restaurants.

The Stowe rec path is two miles from my house, easily accessible by bike.

What makes this house unique

This house is the fruition of decades working, imagining, designing, searching and finally building my home. The design seamlessly integrates with my state of mind- Quiet solitude, beautiful surroundings, preparing meals from scratch. To those ends, I included a sunken living room, looking out on leafy trees through three large windows. The effect is of being in a tree house. The master bath has a shower that seamlessly transitions in to the room.It has its own window.

The spaces feel much larger than the actual footprint; The very open floor plan has large diagonal views. Two interior doors are 4 foot wide sliding doors; When open the spaces feel joined. Ceiling heights and angles vary; The sensation is of transitioning from one distinct area to another.

The deck extends out from the house over a steep drop off. This creates a cantilever effect. Leafy trees border the railing, creating a shady area over the eucaliptus table and benches.

The kitchen is not large, but again the feel is of a larger space. Efficiency was a prime motivating factor in the design. One side angles ever wider until it transitions in to the dining room without any physical border.

Throughout, there are prime details in the construction. All windows have either silestone or solid cherry sills. The windows themselves are european inswing and tilting with triple panes for top efficiency.

Both baths make generous use of tiles for water repellency and a very nice finish.

The mudroom is finished in tiles of different deep red shades.

The stairs are made of birch treads with cherry risers. The same effect is used in the kitchen with cherry lower cabinets and maple upper cabinets.

There are no boring details in materials or design, yet the overall effect is relaxing.

Beautiful home

I loved the house, it was all very nice. The only thing missing was blinds to block morning sun if you don't get up with the sun. Stewart is great a host, I enjoyed meeting him.

Owner's Response: Karla and her partner where great guests to have. I enjoyed talking to them. And I particularly enjoyed finding my house clean and organized after they're stay. The cushions on the couch where arranged as if they had never stayed there and simply showed up to get the house ready for the next guests!
