What makes this House unique
Cozy, private, 10 minutes to town and swimming. Great kitchen and grill, sitting out on the porch. Enjoying the pond ecosystem and the animals that visit is really wonderful.

A Perfect Respite
In just a few short days we were totally rejuvenated. The noise and hectic pace of NYC was replaced by the sounds of chirping birds and trees softly whispering in a cabin that was completely equipped to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. AND the best part was an amazing screened-in porch allowing us to be a part of nature!
We had a great weekend at the cabin. It was perfect for our family and ideally located to hikes, swimming holes and Woodstock. We spent evenings playing board games on the screened porch. We cannot wait to go back!
Perfect mountain stay.
This was our first time here and it was wonderful! Pet friendly and our small dog was very comfortable. The property is modern and rustic, the pictures don’t do it justice. Much larger inside than I thought. Plenty of basic supplies- you really don’t need to bring much. No cell service but the Wifi worked well with our phones’ WiFi calling. Don’t worry about that. 10 mins to town but super private. Thanks to Raymond and Maura.
An awesome escape!
A few friends, bottles of wine and this cabin was all we needed for a perfect NYE. Nestled just outside downtown Woodstock, this cabin was the perfect getaway. I was able to bake bread with the supplies in the kitchen, the dining room table was perfect for games and the grounds were big enough to let my large dog exhaust himself running around. We hope to be back this spring!
Perfect Catskills Getaway!
Cabin Doh-Ray was an amazing property! We enjoyed exploring the grounds and cooking in the well stocked kitchen. It was a serene experience!
It was a very relaxing few days and the house was lovely and well stocked
We would return but hope that the owners would update the lighting a bit in the dining area and bedrooms.
Had a very nice stay.
5 Day Min July, Aug, 4 Day Christmas, 3 Day Thanksgiving - Surrounded by the forests of Mt. Guardian at an altitude of almost 1500 feet, you are high enough to keep cool in the summer and experience a winter wonderland of snow in the winter. Hunter and Belleayre ski resorts are only 30-40 minutes away.
To get there you turn off the main road in Woodstock and start the steep climb to the house. Off to the right stretches the Indian Head Wilderness, with its miles of challenging hiking trails winding through the Catskill High Peaks. Turn onto the private gravel road that climbs up Mt. Guardian and you soon arrive at the house, set in a beautiful grove of hemlocks, only four miles from the great shops and restaurants of Woodstock.
PLEASE NOTE: 4WD is strongly recommended in the winter as the cabin is on a steep mountain road that can be a challenging drive in the snow.
Other Activities: Hike to the viewpoint above the house, go to the swimming hole, take fly fishing lessons. There's Opus40 and Big Pink too, as well as the Midnight Ramble events at Levon Helm's house!
