For your holiday of discovery of the life in Nîmes, this very nice quiet apartment offering coolness thanks to its old walls is located 200 m from the arenas and the bustling streets of the town centre.
This street of the town centre is close to all shops: bars, tobacconist, salad bar, Asian caterer, pizzas, groceries and other restaurants.
Without a car, you can hence discover the pedestrian streets and the tourist sites of Nîmes, town of Roman history and culture. The tram-bus station is 50 m and the train station is within 10 minutes on foot.
The apartment overlooks a private courtyard sheltered from heavy summer heats. It has just been renovated and has all the fittings to feel at home (refrigerator, ceramic hob, washing machine, television, coffee machine, toaster, crockery, bath, necessary cleaning products, etc.) The living room-kitchen has 2 windows equipped with rolling shutters protected by ironworks.
An extra single bed is available on the sofa of the living room. Bedrooms are equipped with windows overlooking another indoor courtyard. Everything is on a single floor which is practical for disabled people but not much suitable for wheelchair users because there are 2 steps.
In town, the Roman monuments are very close: arenas, Maison Carrée and Porte d’Auguste. But do not forget a gourmet break in the Halles with specialties from Nîmes.
In addition to the old stones, the wooded park of Jardin de la Fontaine and the Carré d'Art which is the big multimedia library of Nîmes designed by the architect Norman Foster with restaurant with panoramic views of the town are not to be missed.
The tourist office organised rallies to discover the town
There are several cinemas including Le Sémaphore 4 minutes on foot, Le Forum also in the town centre and the 3D Kinéopolis with bowling at the edge of the tram.
On very hot days, the big aquatic centre Le Némausa is a few minutes away by tram as well as Aquatropic.
2 golf courses nearby: golf de Vacquerolles is 10 minutes by car and the more famous golf de Campagne is around 15 minutes.
Let us not forget the music scene Paloma that is 10 minutes by car and the arenas that is the evident concert place in summer in Nîmes.
Within 20 minutes: the historical and cultural site of Pont du Gard
Within 45 minutes: the Camargue, Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, Avignon (ideal for the Avignon Festival in July) and Le Grau-du-Roi which is easily reachable by train.
