Starting out as a humble little barn over 200 years ago, this home is the classic farmhouse. Today, the property is a legal two-family house and the upstairs apartment has been completely renovated and brought up-to-date. The fully-equipped, spacious kitchen is capable of satisfying even the fussiest food preparers and the bright, skylighted bathroom lets you shower in sun beams. Sweet dreams awake you in the huge master bedroom and even the cozy guest room comes with an extremely comfortable queen sized bed. The living room has everything you need including a large big screen TV with sound bar but if you want to play games, read, enjoy meals or just take in some peace and quiet you can do that too. Play cards at our large dining room table which features a built in bench. Sit in the Box Bay Window and listen to the Wallkill River roll on by.
When you stay here you are in the heart of everything there is to do. You can walk over to the river and see it for yourself in seconds. Bring your fishing pole! Without much more effort you can stroll over to the Tuthilltown Distillery for lunch, dinner, a drink or a tour. You can quickly bike or drive to many places including Angry Orchard, Whitecliff Vineyard, the Yard Owl Brewery, Liquid Mercantile and the town of Gardiner. The entrance to the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail is located just down the street in Gardiner as well. You can safely bike to New Paltz in 30 minutes and New Paltz has even more to do and see. You could continue your bike ride another 45 minutes to the Rosendale Train Trestle (probably the most beautiful stretch of the rail trail) and explore Main Street in Rosendale.
You are only a 10 minute drive from the trailheads of Mohonk Mountain where you can hike the day away, visit swimming holes or rock climb. You might also prefer to visit Lake Minnewaska, which is breathtaking, and take a dip. These gorgeous, natural sanctuaries are extremely close but you can also be a little more ambitious and ride West over the mountain to Accord and Kerhonkson, North for 45 minutes to Woodstock and the Ashokan Reservoir or East to the Walk Over The Hudson in Highland. You name it, you can do it here!
