About Dorothy Bero

I am married and work full time. Soon to be an empty nester after raising my children for the last 40 years. 4 wonderful successful daughters and a hansom late in life son who graduates this year.

We got to the point where all we were doing was mowing our property and not having time enjoying it so we decided to start renting it out so we could justify keeping it.

It is a work in process - we have done many renovations and our working on more. It is old but it is clean and quaint.

Dorothy Bero purchased this cabin in 1998

Why Dorothy Bero chose Frewsburg

My husband always wanted a place to go hunt and we fell in love with the location so we bought it. At the time my children were still living at home and we used it a lot. But they are grown now and I am a grandmother so I am on the road a lot going to see them. So we do not get to use it as much as we would like.

What makes this cabin unique

It s in such a good location - right between 2 golf courses and the NY and PA side of the Alleghenies. Near the Kinzu Dam or Lake

Chautauqua - whatever way you choose to go. So much to do in the areas - from biking and hiking to kayaking or boating or even a wine trail or 2. Fishing or golfing.

Quaint and quiet!

  • 5 of 5

We loved it. It was just what we were looking for, a quiet place that is close to Allegany State Park! Thank you!

It was a hunting camp cabin according to the owners husband that we met

  • 1 of 5

It was not what we usually rent. The smoke detector had no battery in it. The shower was gross. The yard was beautiful and well taken care of

Well never return

Owner's Response: I am so sorry you were not happy - had you told me when you arrived I would have given you a full refund and you could have found another place to stay. It is my hubby's hunting place maybe 2 weeks of the year - he also hunts from our house so doe that make it a hunting camp as well?? I keep my prices low so people can have a nice place to stay - it is old but it is clean. Unfortunately if I did everything you suggested the price would double.

Affordable and clean

  • 4 of 5

The location for us was perfect as we were visiting both the Chautauqua Lake area and the Kinzua National Park area. The cabin is rustic and well loved, but overall a great value for the price. The owner provides plenty of extra blankets, cookware, etc. and even left some snacks for us.

Our only suggestion would be putting a bigger sign out near the road clearly noting the address and cabin name. Our GPS took us about a mile up the road and it was dark outside so we had a hard time finding the cabin when we initially arrived at night.
