Nice stay but beware the hill!
Nice property set high above the playa. Nice views from balcony. To improve the stay the apartment needs a little TLC. New bathroom taps and shower screen, not curtain would be good. This is a minor point.
Would suggest a car , but then again parking is a nightmare. No room to drive into parking space or reverse in. No car means walking up and and down 'Cardiac' hill, which is very steep and walking in 35 degree heat is a challenge!
Pool area is nice, as is local beach.
First time in Mojacar but will return.
This apartment is up a very steep hillside, lovely view, however not for everyone. Car is really a must, unless you just want to stay in the resort or use a bus or taxi.
Apartment needs updating, painting and a good Spring clean, so much potential !
Very reasonable to eat out, Consum is a very good supermarket. Nice boutiques. Mojacar village is worth a visit. As is Almería city.
great place shame about the access
we cant fault the appartment everything we needed was there nice pool veiws etc but road outside to pool very steep no good for wobbly people no railings even such a shame for us but i would highly recomend for normal health people neighbours very pleasant.
Lovely relaxing home from home.
Very comfortable and spacious. Owner very quick to respond and resolve issues. Would love to go back again.
Delightful apartment in a great location.
Very nice property with most things included, although missed having no wifi & no sun lounger for the balcony. We've had a great holiday & thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Good position- quieter end of town
The owner gave very accurate details about how to get to the property which was helpful. On arrival after 8 hours travelling, we couldn't get the key to turn in the door lock and it took ages to get it to open. I phoned the owner who was in Poland and only able to get 'a manager' of the property to help. We got in unaided after a few minutes. The door lock frustratingly remained a problem at every opportunity during our two week stay. The apartment was airy and spacious enough for the two of us and would be enough for two little children too. There is a spacious balcony overlooking the pool and down to the sea. The apartment has been set up for the rental market- all the basic equipment is there but furniture is a bit 'mix and match' and would benefit from a ' shabby chic style makeover to bring it up to date. The walls could do with a coat of paint as there are lots of dirty marks and children's hand prints. The white toilet seat has yellowing (maybe from being bleached) but looks unsightly. Just a couple of hundred euros spent on this place would make it much more comfortable to be in as it is in a great position, has efficient air conditioning, and a good aspect with a shared, decent sized pool.
It only takes 5-10 minutes to walk to the sandy beach. There are 148 restaurants, bars and beach bars along the seafront so plenty of choice for eating. It is at the quieter and slightly classier end of the resort. Most of the apartments seem to be rented out so there is a frequent turnover of visitors who don't always abide by the rules of the pool.
There is a Dia supermarket about 2-3km away along the beachfront which is easily accessible by car but it is also on a bus route. In Garrucha there is a Lidl. There is also a charity shop a few doors away from Dia so if, like me, you want to leave some clothes behind you can donate them to MACS who raise funds for cancer support.
During our stay we drove along the coast to the Cabo de Gata natural park which was fascinatingly barren. We could understand why westerns were filmed near there. The playa de los muertos was mobbed with people and we left earlier than anticipated due to this. We went to Granada town which we enjoyed and the Alhambra which was spectacular (although we prefer the Alcazar in Seville). Mojacar is a relaxed and friendly place and we mainly enjoyed our stay.

MOJACAR: a dazzling white hilltop village overlooks the sea on the Coata de Almeria. Brimming with narrow streets and squares this picturesque village reflects the Moorish influence, which has prevailed in Mojacar for many centuries. Beloved by artists and writers thought the ages, Mojacar's architecture, commanding views and unique charm will completely enchant and captivate you. Whether it's sailing, fishing, bowling, tennis, golf or horseriding that takes your fancy, exploring the real Andalucia, or simply soaking up the sun on an uncrowded beach, you'll find it all in and around Mojacar. The main fiesta of the Moors and Christians - usually around the weekend of 6th June - is not to be missed and dominates the playa and village for the whole weekend. In contrast, the playa offers many attractions, bars and family restaurants all with breathtaking views of the sea or mountains. Mojacar is truly a place for the discerning holiday maker and a place you will want to revisit many times.
MOJACAR: Is part of unspoilt Spain known as 'the corner of enchantment'. The sea is not hidden away behind rows of hi-rise buildings - here you have the best of both worlds - an historic hilltop village full of narrow cobbled streets with ancient Moorish dwellings with a variety of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. It has a commanding position overlooking the beautiful coastline, mountains and plains, uncluttered and unspoilt beaches. The symbol of Mojacar, thought to be 4500 years old, is an Indalo man holding an arc in outstretched arms. It is said to bring good luck and protection and is painted on many buildings in the village.
Cabo de Gata National Park is 30 minutes drive - pack a picnic and enjoy a fabulous day out. Numerous markets are within easy reach. Ideal for a family holiday or to experience the real undeveloped Spain. Mojacar is in no hurry to develop tourism - it prefers quality to quantity.
It has a commanding position overlooking the beautiful coastline, mountains and plains, uncluttered and unspoiled beaches. It has excellent sporting facilities, such as golf, scuba diving, quad biking, horse riding and sailing. 15 minutes drive away is Vera Water park where you can spend all day or just a few hours there.
Golf: SUPERB GOLF: 1 mile to Marina de la Torre 18 holes (par 72) with magnificent views along the coastline and mountains of Cabrera. 11 miles to Desert Springs 18 hole (par 72). 5 miles to Valle del Este 18 holes (par 73) and 13 miles to Cortijo Grande 9 holes set in mountains and orange groves.
