This charming home is a blend of modern and mountain design. It sits within the secure gated Frank Lloyd Wright themed community of Gold Mountain, and Nakoma Golf Resort. The home sits on (3) very wooded acres, surrounded by hundreds of forested acres, all of which provide substantial solitude and privacy. You can see for miles without any highways, roof-tops or power-lines. The 1200 SF deck is built extending into the trees with overlooking vantage points where you can observe many unique species of birds and area wildlife. The home offers a comfortable relaxing place to read, nap, cook, or BBQ. The only lights you’ll see at night are millions of stars. A stay here will totally rejuvenate your soul. It’s beautiful and private, yet close to everything you could want. Your stay can be totally relaxing and pampering lounging on the large deck. Or you can make your stay as exciting and thrilling as you want. You can hike, fish, climb mountains, bike, swim, kayak, golf, boat, dine-out, or get a manicure and massage, all within minutes of this home. The Feather River is a short hike below the home. Reno and Tahoe are within an hour drive. Autumn fall colors a spectacular seasonal attraction.

Perfect vacation for us
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. This was one of the best vacation rentals ever. I found it very helpful, being able to communicate directly with the owners who were very responsive and very helpful. The house is cozy, lovingly decorated and equipped with everything we needed. It was the closest thing to staying at our own home.
The house provides everything you’ll ever need in supplies and convenience. The TV/DVR system is terrific for folks like us who like to watch recorded sports and movies. The DVD collection is enormous. Lot’s of entertainment! We were not bored. Wifi would be good to have for a longer stay.
The deck is unusually large. It’s easy to find a sunny or shaded spot on it, whatever your heart desires. There is no house within sight. We enjoyed the quietude and the beautiful nature with great views.
The kitchen and the supplies are incredibly generous, but we did not want to take advantage of the owner’s generosity. The whole set up is ideal for folks who like to cook their own meals. The quiet serenity makes a vacation very relaxing. The info provided by the owners for the house and on trails, lakes etc. was very helpful. Our main outdoor sport was golf. The area offers three high quality courses like Whitehawk, Grizzly Ranch, Dragon, and the more affordable Plumas Pines. Special deals were available for multiple play which made the high end courses quite reasonable.
The weather in the Sierra is always reliable, sunny and comfortable with cool nights. After a long stay, we usually are happy to head home, but this time we hated to leave.
Wonderful Vacation Home
Recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful vacation home in Gold Mountain. The house was very clean and comfortable with many amenities. The fabulous deck was a great spot to relax, entertain friends and enjoy the views. Perfect location and close to the many fun activities that the area has to offer. Thanks for a great stay! We will definitely be back!
Comfortable, clean and private get away!
Great spot, very comfortable "cabin" close to hiking, golf etc while also private with wonderful views. The lack of wifi we knew about and was fine-however for longer stays it would be a great addition. Beyond that show up and enjoy the owners are very responsive and organized. We hope to be back!
This home is lovely.
We enjoyed sitting on the d Ca where we played games and enjoyed the sound of the wind whistling through the trees.
People renting this home should know there is no WiFi. You need your own hot spot and service is slow.
Of course the reason to come should be to enjoy the surroundings and all that is available to see.
We took a great day trip up to Smith Peak lookout. It is best to access it near Davis Lake otherwise you are on a dirt road off of 70 that takes over an hour to get to the lookout.
The owners are very responsive to questions even though we had only a few.
The cabin was amazing! It was the perfect mountain retreat for our family!
The cabin exceeded our expectations! It was both cozy and luxurious, nicely stocked with everything we needed. The pictures do not do the cabin justice. The view from the deck was amazing. We spent a lot of time gazing at the stars. The hosts took care of every detail. It was the perfect base for mountain biking, a spa getaway, and lake adventures with our little ones! We will be back!
Well appointed and stocked two bedroom cabin with a very large outdoor deck.
The cabin felt very private, secluded and safe. The property is well situated between Graeagle and Portola with golfing near by. The owners provide excellent instructions and everything worked as explained.
Beer lovers, and those in need of a WIFI hot-spot, should know there is a fantastic micro brewery "Brewing Liar" in Blairsden. They have a wonderful facility with several BBQs, picnic tables, corn-hole, rope walk, music events, cross country disk coarse, free WIFI etc.
