Welcome to Indian Pass, a remote tropical area reminiscent of uncrowded Florida beaches of the past...the natural beauty of tall palms, pines and palmettos.
These beaches are loaded with shells, the skies are filled with birds and breathtaking stargazing in the evenings.
'Gnat's Landing'(formerly known as 'Southwind'), offers beach living right outside your front door. Glorious panoramic views of a sweeping coastline from St. Vincent's Island Wildlife Preserve to Cape San Blas. Sitting closer to the shoreline than any other house, there is no walk to the beach from 'Gnat's Landing'. Instead, simply step off the front porch and choose your spot to soak up the Florida sun.
The house, newly remodeled and tastefully decorated, offers three bedrooms, two baths, a large great room, dining area and kitchen complete with all the modern conveniences. Enjoy the breeze on the screened in porch while watching the dolphins roll by in the Gulf of Mexico, or sun yourself on the upper deck. This house has it all!
You will be conveniently located one mile from Indian Pass Campground and Marina, and one mile from the world famous Indian Pass Raw Bar, and also just a short five minute drive from the sandy beaches of Cape San Blas where you can visit St. Joseph Peninsula Park, voted top beach of 2002.
Also, experience the history and charm of nearby Apalachicola where you will find unique shops, restaurants and plenty to do!

Relaxing stay on a very quiet beach
We stayed here with our two toddlers for a long weekend. I wish it had been longer. No one was ready to go home. The home was well stocked with everything we needed. The property managers were incredibly responsive. We saw lots of walkers, but We were the only people playing/sitting on the beach for as far as we could see in either direction. It felt beautifully secluded and picturesque. We will definitely return!
Very secluded and relaxing
We enjoyed our stay very much. Loved the early morning walks on the beach . Our only issue was the weather but for the most part we were able to plan our activities around it.
Great house, area!
The house was great, plenty of room for 4 kids under 12 and 2 adults. The beach is pretty private and everyone that walked/rode by were very nice. We would definitely stay here again. Only minor issues that we dealt with was the oven/range not working properly and paper products not stocked. Other than that everything was very comfortable and relaxing. Kids had so much fun finding the huge shells and we even had a dolphin come see us while we were swimming. Beautiful area!Thank you!!
Location, Location, Location. Awesome spot for a nice secluded area of the beach. Really enjoyed it.
House was in good shape. The only thing we recommended was to update the kitchen utensils and cook ware. One other surprise was the washer and dryer were on the ground level and not in a laundry closet on the main living floor.
Awesome View, Very Comfortable House
Really awesome view, especially from the top deck - and you should see the stars at night from up there! There is virtually no light pollution, so the view was wonderful! Spectacular sunset photos may be taken off the screen porch by opening the door and doing a "point-and-shoot." The kitchen has everything you need if you're going to cook and the house is very well equipped overall with many special touches. The kitchen is colorful, bright, airy, and spacious and the beds are comfortable.
Ideal beach house & vacation
I have rented on Indian Pass / Cape San Blas for 17 years and this was my families favorite house. The owners allowed a two week rental and we enjoyed the secluded beach and the warm, accommodating home as an ideal wrap up to our summer. One day we found 25 whole sand dollars while walking. Nearly every day we watched the dolphins jump while they played and fished. The home offered amazing views of both the sunrise and sunset. We can't say enough about this home. I cooked the crab that we caught in the large kitchen. We are going back again next year, and the next and the next!
