If you enjoy swimming in clear lake water and jumping off of a float without worrying about motorboats, our quiet summer home may be just the place for you. It is a beautiful A-frame house with huge windows and deck overlooking serene Fern Lake. In this main house there is a master bedroom with a queen bed and full bath, a large loft with two single beds, a small kitchen that is open to a living/dining area, and an additional half-bath. You may certainly use the large gas grill on the large deck. There is also a small guest cabin a stone’s throw away that has a queen bed, two single beds, and its own bathroom with shower. Wifi, paperbacks, a few board games, kitchen utensils, kayak, and life jackets included. The area is very wooded, so there is no lawn to speak of. The local towns spray for mosquitos, so they haven't been much of an issue.
The neighbors tend to be very quiet, although a few folks across the lake are very patriotic every 4th of July. The town of Brandon is only 5 miles away and pretty fun by Vermont standards. There are a few good restaurants and cafés, a farmers' market, a good grocery store, and hardware store. Middlebury is 12 miles away and has lots of restaurants and bars to serve the locals as well as the college folk.
