This townhouse can be your relaxing retreat after a day of sightseeing or a night at the world famous Santa Fe Opera.

This charming setting is perfect for a weekend away or a family gathering. Downstairs you will find the fully equipped kitchen, bar/counter and dining area with seating for six. The adjacent living room has a TV and half bath. Relax in front of the kiva fireplace with a glass of wine or curl up on the couch with a good book.

The whole unit is tastefully decorated with modern Spanish influences including Saltillo tile, rustic wood accents, original artwork of local scenes and limited edition prints from the Indian Market and Santa Fe Opera.

At Casa de la Colina you will have access to an indoor heated swimming pool. Laundry facilities are available in the complex. Thirty acres of Fort Marcy Park across the street provide excellent walks and the opportunity to see rabbits and other wildlife. A soccer field, gymnasium and recreation center are available two blocks away.

The property is on Artist Road on the way to the ski basin and Japanese spa. Enjoy views of the famous Santa Fe sunsets over the beautiful Jemez Mountains from the balcony. Free WiFi is accessible throughout Casa de la Colina.

About The Owner

We purchased this home in 2005 when we lived in Santa Fe. We enjoyed living within walking distance of the Plaza, great restaurants, historic buildings, and the wonderful local community in the City Different. We have since moved out of state, but we love to come back to New Mexico!

The Owner purchased this condo in 2005

Why The Owner chose Santa Fe

Santa Fe is a wonderful place to visit any time of the year. In the summer you can find wonderful hikes and enjoy world class performances at the Santa Fe Opera. In the fall you can savor beautiful sunsets and cook some hearty New Mexican food to keep you warm. In the winter you can ski and snowboard, and take in gorgeous views of the snow-covered desert. In the spring you can get a thrill with every green leaf that pops up and enjoy a classic margarita on the balcony.

What makes this condo unique

My husband and I love to start the day with fresh scones from the Sage Bakehouse, and pack sandwiches to take on a hike. The Big Tesuque trailhead is only 10 minutes from the condo, and the Atalaya trailhead is just 10 minutes in the other direction. After a good hike we like to stroll around Canyon Road to check out new artists, or grab a margarita on the balcony of the Ore House while listening to live music. First dinner back in town is always at The Shed (excellent New Mexican food and wonderful atmosphere), with a short walk home. During the winter we'll get a fire going in the kiva fireplace and cook at home with dried chilies from our ristra (yes, you can eat the chilies on the ristras!).

Guestbook comments from the owner

The condo is quite nice, the beds were very comfortable, and there was plenty of room for the four of us.

Ski trip stay

  • 5 of 5

We did not have the opportunity to use the pool or hot tub but everything else was good. It worked well for us as we were looking for something easily accessible to the mountain for skiing but yet close to the plaza for shopping g etc thanks

Close to town, Clean

  • 5 of 5

Close walk to town and easy parking. Nothing too special but this was exactly what we were looking for since we wanted to be by the plaza and the place easily slept 6. Only stayed one night and after the cleaning fee, taxes, etc. the price was about double the price vrbo originally quoted.

Tod was very nice and the rooms were clean. I would recommend this to any group looking to stay in Sante Fe near the plaza .

Clean!

  • 5 of 5

Ft. Marcy is an older condo development but it has been beautifully cared for. This unit was super clean, the kitchen was well appointed, the beds were firm (great for our backs). The location could not be better! We were in Santa Fe during Indian Market when parking in Santa Fe is impossible. We could walk down to the plaze in 10 minutes. Yes, the walk back up was more of a challenge but that is mostly due to the high altitude! It was quiet at night and we slept with all the windows open. The owner was super helpful. We would not hesitate to come back. Thank You for a wonderful week in Santa Fe!
