About E.B.

I am a local attorney and grew up a short walk from the house, which was my best friend's home in my childhood. I still live close by and am usually available to answer any questions you may have.

E.B. purchased this house in 2005

Why E.B. chose Perryville

We enjoy the waterfront and wanted a property we could share with others. It's within walking distance from my house so I can check on it easily. It was also my best-friend from elementary school's house, so it has a lot of memories for me.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi E.B.,

Just wanted to let you know we had a great time during our stay. The house

accommodated our families very well and the views were incredible. We saw

some bald eagles and other wildlife and the kids had a blast playing near

the water. The fire pit was perfect!

Happy New Year!

Fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 10 stayed at the house in January during an unusual deep freeze. Prior to arrival, I was bummed about the weather and disappointed thinking we were going to be cooped up inside during the days of single digit degree weather. Upon arrival, we were so pleasantly surprised of how spacious the house was and offered many amenities such as games, books, cable tv (important during playoffs), and of course the wifi for the kids. We had a big turkey "Christmas" dinner and was not short of any dishes, pans or utensils as the kitchen(s) were generously stocked with supplies. The house was beautifully situated right on the bay and even tho it was completely frozen, we still enjoyed watching the eagles soaring, the foxes trotting on the ice, and the heron taking off. I can't say enough about the owner. Very attentive, responsive, and personal. Fantastic charming house & great owner.... I would highly recommend this house for a nice relaxing get away!

Owner's Response: Wow, thank you so much! I am very happy that even with the freezing temperatures you took advantage of our beautiful waterfront setting. Thank you also for the great pictures from out on the ice. I am always pleased when guests stay during the winter months when there really is so much to see out on the water. I look forward to having you all again.

Just what we needed

  • 5 of 5

Seven of us used the house for a three day work retreat, and it was absolutely perfect. The surroundings are beautiful, and the great blue heron flying by helped us focus on our work. The house itself is clean and warm, and provided us with both a wonderful common space to collaborate and privacy in each room.

We didn't leave very much so can't speak to the town or restaurants or anything like that. We can just say that the place itself was perfect for us.

Great location. Well appointed. Wonderful owner.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week. The house is very nice and comfortable. We were a larger group and the accommodations were great. The owner was very responsive and helpful. I highly recommend this home. It was a short drive (15 minutes) to Ripken Stadium where we played in a baseball tournament. Worth the drive!

Would recommend

  • 4 of 5

The inside accommodations were great. There were ten of us for a family vacation, and the rental of both upstairs and downstairs was perfect. It had rained quite a bit prior to our arrival, thus the outside decks were wet and covered with wet leaves looking dreary, but after sunshine and warmth, no more dreariness. The dock does need repaired, but EB had advised us of that well in advance. Fish were caught off the shore, bald eagles and Ospreys were in abundance, and the fact that there are no neighbors on the north side makes it perfect with a large yard. We just slipped our smaller boat into the creek to the north at night and anchored it which worked out well. If you are expecting a sandy beach, this is not for you. High tide brings the water right to the sea wall, but low tide affords a small strip of sand in which the kids played and built sand castles. When we had any questions or minor issues, they were attended to immediately and unobtrusively. I would recommend this rental unequivocally.

Relaxing 3 Family Getaway!!!

  • 5 of 5

Coming from the NYC metro area, this property was a perfect location for our family to meet up. With young children, the drive was great heading down the NJ Turnpike, the distance was perfect. The property was just the right distance away from Interstate 95 too, maybe 15 minutes from the exit.

Upon arriving in the afternoon, the house was clean and ready for us to start our vacation. The kitchens were fully equipped with anything that we needed, which was helpful for making meals. Additionally, their were plenty of bedrooms for the 8 of us (6 adults and 2 children under the age of 4)!!! It made it really easy with all of the linens provided.

The property itself was great. Fantastic for bird watching. We have never seen so many osprey and bald eagles located in one spot. The water was great, and the view was amazing. Everybody in the family enjoyed relaxing on the Adirondack chairs, and the direct access to the Chesapeake bay allowed for great swimming and kayaking. It also offered great entertainment for our 2 dogs that came with us.

Lastly, there were a lot of activities to do. We got to play 2 rounds of golf. Both courses were within 15 minutes of the house. The towns of Havre de Grace and Northeast were really quaint, and full of little shops and restaurants to enjoy.

This was a great property for a family get together, and the 4 days that were spent there went way too fast. With plenty of space and 2 levels each containing everything we needed, the house was well appointed for the 8 of us. Just taking in the views and enjoying the backyard and porches made for a great experience for our family, and we are so happy to have discovered this gem on the bay!!!

Lovely One-Night Stay

  • 4 of 5

Had a lovely overnight stay at this beautiful Bay house over Valentine's weekend. The house sits right on the water and is very nice and clean inside. It is a single house divided into an upstairs and downstairs unit; my boyfriend and I stayed in the downstairs apartment. E.B. was accommodating and responded promptly to all our questions/concerns! There is food/shops just a short drive away, but the property itself was very quiet. I would love to stay here again and rent the entire house with a few more people!

The property is situated between Seneca Point and Carpenters Point, just south of Charlestown. Being on a point results in no through-traffic, and aside from the boats, a very quiet setting. We see abundant wildlife: bald eagles, great blue herons, ospreys, wood ducks, mallards, river turtles, beavers, deer and foxes. We own 16 acres of woods and marsh, and there are another many acres adjacent to the property full of wildlife visible by foot or by boat. In warm weather boaters anchor in the shallows to the north to on the weekends. Elite anglers have stayed here.

During the Revolutionary War, Charlestown was a major supply depot for the Continental Army. Early in the war, a British ship blockading the port was captured and its officers and men marched through the streets of town. In August 1777 the British bombarded the town as a diversionary tactic while General Howe’s troops sailed up the Elk River to land in Elkton.

Other Activities: Kayaking, Boating, Wildlife Viewing, Hollywood Casino - 5 miles

Golf: Furnace Bay is 4 miles away and reasonably priced. Chesapeake Bay Golf Club has two courses, in North East and Rising Sun. Patriots Glen is in Elkton and Bittersweet Golf is south of Elkton toward Chesapeake City, about 20 minutes away.
