About Brice & Paul
New owners, same great listing! You get 2 hosts when you book with us - Brice and Paul, members of BSP Queen City properties. Brice and Paul also own Velodrome Coffee Company, located directly below our amazing modern loft style apartment. Both of us, brought home to Marquette by our wives, have really enjoyed settling down here. Our wives are both artists, we're the entrepreneurs. We really enjoy what this town has to offer and can be found out on some of the world's best single trace mountain biking on our down time. When we're not on our bikes, we're likely working out of Velodrome, spreading the good coffee gospel!
Brice & Paul purchased this Apartment in 2018
Why Brice & Paul chose Marquette
We started renting the ground level retail space in June 2017 for our coffee shop and fell in love with the entire property in the mean time. The past owner, Dax, did an incredible job with the full remodel of the space and created an incredible vacation spot and impeccable VRBO reputation which we hope to maintain!
What makes this Apartment unique
This space is incredible... not only are you literally in the center of Marquette, but you're high up and removed from the noise of the town. It's quite here just on the last block of the downtown and this space features some incredible views out the front windows overlooking the city, or the natural lot behind the building from our second story back patio.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Walking distance to restaurants and downtown
We enjoyed our stay - the owners have done a nice job of modernizing the unit. For clarity for future guests, the unit has a king bed and leather sofa in one bedroom, and a queen in each of the other two bedrooms = three beds and 2 sofas. The living room has a leather sofa. The bedrooms could easily accommodate a couple and 4 children,; or 2 adults sharing the king bed and an adult in each of the other two queen beds for a capacity of 6 people. For those who don't mind sleeping on a sofa, an additional 2 people could be accommodated for a capacity of 8 people. The unit lists accommodations for 9 people, but it's unclear where the 9th would sleep. As noted, the unit has one bathroom. One of the bedrooms faces onto the town's main street which tends to become noisy by 6 AM - no problem for early risers, but a loud trash collection truck also came at 1 AM just beneath the front bedroom. The trade off of the city accommodation is close proximity to grocery and restaurants.
The unit also has an unusual configuration with the (lovely) galley-style kitchen on the first floor and bedrooms and living area on the ground floor. Not and "open concept" but good for coffee-making early risers not disturbing sleepers-in.
I gave a 4 star for accuracy of online listing as available laundry was mentioned in the listing at the time of our stay, but none on site. I see this has since been removed from the listing. Also, that the listing did not clarify the bed/sofa situation and we had made an assumption there were 4 beds in the 3 bedrooms.
Kudos to the owners for providing Marquette visitors with this nice accommodation. A lot of work clearly went into making the unit.
Clean, Modern, Amazing!
I loved being able to stay at at The Loft! Coffee downstairs, groceries across the street and all of the magnificance of Marquette -- nature, restaurants, NMU, shopping -- including my son. The Loft is a large gem to add to the ring of Michigan wonders!
Fantastic Loft and Perfect Location
The location is perfect for restaurants and exploring downtown Marquette and the surrounding area. The loft was nicely decorated and had all the comforts we could ask for. The kitchen was well appointed and the coffee maker was great! We used it as a home base for tackling the Marji Gesick 100 and it was ideal for the crew during the race and for celebrating afterwards. We look forward to returning soon!
The loft was spacious and modern. It had everything we needed for our stay and was in a super convenient location. Brice and Paul were quick to respond to any questions I had. I would definitely stay here again!
Great location space amenities etc.
Very happy with the Loft!
Hey Andrew, thanks so much for your stay!
Is there anything in particular we could’ve done better to make it a five star?
The Loft was perfect for our family!
The Loft is a treasure in downtown Marquette. This very classy, contemporary loft was wonderful in every way. It was very clean upon arrival and loaded with thoughtful amenities for the guests. It is a nice walk to the downtown restaurants, bars and to the lake. The Loft is right across the street from a food co-op and above a great coffee shop, so you couldn't ask for an easier out of town stay. We contacted the owner twice with questions and the response was immediate and helpful. The Loft has the feel of a big city apartment in a fun small town.
