We stayed for one night for my mom’s birthday and really enjoyed our time. The location was fantastic, the space was very clean, and it had great amenities for a comfortable stay. The only thing we wish was different is a slightly later checkout (11 AM would have been perfect), but we understand the cleaning needs between guests. Overall, a great stay and we would definitely come back!

Cute cabin with nice sized bedrooms, well-equipped kitchen, and incredible location, close to Alyeska ski lift. Wonderful to be able to bring our pups with us. Fireplace was very nice to keep warm and cozy, but the central heating was also super quick to heat the cabin. Fun games and puzzles and a nice dining table to set them up on. Comfy living room furniture. Very quiet at night.

Awesome chalet with plenty of space with amazing bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen. You can’t beat the proximity to mountain and everything else Girdwood has to offer!!

Wonderful property

It was such a great location and the home was really great with everything we needed. Clean sheets and towels and start up pack of sops and detergents so we didn't have to run to the store the first second. We had everything we needed to eat at home and cook meals when we chose to do so. It was truly a home away from home. We will definitely try to rent same property when we come back-we even had games there to play with the kids. Just awesome place. God bless you for sharing your home with us.

Great location

Walking distance to great trails, coffee, bike rentals, restaurant and more. Comfortable. Cleaning could have been a bit better. Great that it had laundry and showers were nice. Overall, I would recommend this place.

A great basecamp for adventure in southern Alaska

My family stayed here for almost a week while doing all kinds of activities in southern Alaska. Girdwood is a great location for this and this home is perfect for families. The neighbors are very close, but the overgrown foliage around the unit actually makes it fairly private. The one neighbor we did talk to was very friendly. The kitchen was well-stocked and there were plenty of towels and wash cloths. The beds were also very comfortable. The only criticism I have is it's tough for anyone to sleep in that loft bed during the summer hours because you cannot block out the sunlight coming in through those big windows. But other than that, we loved the property and would return.

Great basecamp for adventure in Southern Alaska

Girdwood is a great location for an Alaska vacation. We spent almost a week here and did so much great stuff in the area. This house was great for our family. Vacasa operates this rental and they're easy to communicate with. I even accidentally locked the key to the house inside and when I called, they gave me the code to a backup key box to get us access almost immediately. There are a bunch of houses clustered together, which isn't ideal, but the neighbors are very friendly. The only negative is they wouldn't allow us to park a few hours after checkout to attend the local Forest Fair, even though the parking lot at the units was big and empty. Overall, I definitely recommend this place and would stay again.

Nice base for visiting Girdwood area.

When we first drove into the parking area, I was a bit apprehensive as there was an old pickup truck with a flat tire and a pile of skis and mountain bikes jumbled in the back. The vegetation was overgrown at the unit and along the elevated wood pathway. But once inside, it was pretty nice. There were four of us, my 12 yo daughter, my sister and my wife and me. We took the king bed downstairs and my sister the other bedroom upstairs and my daughter on the loft bed, which she loved. Being Alaska at the summer solstice, it was a bit challenging sleeping with all the light, but everyone but me had masks. Being an A-Frame design, there is no way to put blackouts on the high windows and the blinds on the lower windows were mainly for

Quiet and near town

We enjoyed our stay. The home was as described. It's not a new place but the beds were comfy and had clean linens, the kitchen was full of cookware and coffee.

Pricey due to service fees but fine

Chalet #5 was generally clean, somewhat updated with good windows; furnishings were dated but in good repair and comfortable. The overall finishes were a hodgepodge, no cohesive decorating theme. Good lighting. Bathtub and hot tub were both clean. Nice dishwasher and clothes washer with adequate supplies of detergent. Comfortable bed in master. Areas of concern: Light bulb out in refrigerator. Upstairs bed was creaking which could be heard downstairs. Cobwebs in the master bedroom and above main level bathroom mirror. Sliding closet door in master off track and not movable. Bathroom sink and tub not draining well (water pools significantly before slowly draining). Pink mold on shower curtain. No hair dryers. The service fees were very high so short stay was rather expensive, more than staying at Alyeska Resort. Being able to bring a dog was the reason to choose this chalet so it fit our needs well.

Good place if you’re not interested in Hot Tub

Good location, cute neighborhood but no working Hot Tub. Initially Vacasa staff seemed confused about whether or not property even had a hot tub which was frustrating. I noticed the hot tub photo was removed from listing days before check in, but was never notified it didn’t work before I arrived . Local management confirmed it was not operating and I'm waiting for a partial refund .

Cute Hot Tub-Less Chalet

We arrived and were happy to see that the Chalet was as it appeared in the listing A little smaller than expected but quant. We were very disappointed at the condition of the deck covered in leaves and debris and broken tree limbs that had not been cleared from the deck We were excited to use the hot tub as this was a major selling point for us But unfortunately it didn't work the water was ice cold and the fuse box for the hot tub kept tripping when we tried it so we decided it wasn't safe I called VRBO customer service and they said someone would get back to me within the hour Someone called the next morning and apologized for the inconvenience and that someone would be out the following day to fix it I explained that we were checking out the next day He again apologized and offered a refund of $150.00 and let us have a late check out at noon It wasn't the money that mattered honestly When you rent a VRBO with the expectation of having a hot tub and it doesn't work its frustrating You can't check in until 4pm because there is someone there cleaning Wouldn't they check the cleanliness of the hot tub and be sure its working? It was very disappointing Also even though they said we can check out at noon instead of 10am the cleaning guy was knocking at our door at 10am wondering why we were not ready to leave so obviously No communication I'll rent somewhere else next time

Hot tub wasn’t working & I wasn’t notified.

I booked this location a few weeks back specifically because it had a hot tub listed. Upon arriving, the hot tub wasn’t on, wouldn’t turn on, and a Vacasa rep let me know the owners recently took it down from amenities meaning something likely happened. Unfortunately, that’s the only reason I picked this location. It’s cute and was well put together but I simply would have picked a different location had I know or they notified me that it was down. No email, not anything. I would’ve booked a different location had I known. Disappointing to say the least. Working to try to get some sort of reimbursement so I’m holding out hope for some sort of compensation.

Overall great, hot tub didn’t work

Overall we loved our stay and the place was a great space, great location. However the hot tub didn’t work when we got there. It was the main reason we chose this rental over others. We reached out to management and they weren’t able to get someone out to fix it until the next day however no one ever came to fix the issue. Management was quick to respond but not very helpful. Disappointed about the hot tub and spending the extra money for this amenity but otherwise the place was great.

Nice place. Better for three couples rather than individuals since the beds are all double occupancy. Very comfortable and relaxing.

False advertising

The place does not look like the pictures at all. It is not well maintained at all. The dishes and the oven were dirty. The property manager was clearly aware that cleanliness was an issue for this cabin as a recent comment had mentioned it. Given this, they could have sent someone to check before our arrival, they did not. The hot tub was not working. We informed the property manager upon our arrival, they told us they would take care of it, they never did. We asked for a partial refund. It’s been one week. They keep saying they will take care of it. Yeah, sure… Needless to say, I do not recommend to rent this place. And I will not rent any property managed by Vacasa in the future.

70's Vibes

This property badly needs to be up dated, new paint and carpeting would help a lot. The bathroom sink upstairs needs to be replaced as it has many worn spots and chips. Small amenities are missing such as a dust pan to go with the broom and a waste basket in the upstairs bed room. Watch out for the extra "service" fee.However, the location can't be beat and is very close to the resort.
