About Ellis Edmonds

I'm a meeting and event producer and a long-time Brooklyn resident. I'm interested in all the culture that NYC has to offer and in nice weather I tool around the city on my Vespa!

Ellis Edmonds purchased this house in 1988

Why Ellis Edmonds chose Brooklyn

This property had been my primary residence, but now I also own a vacation home where I spend much of my time.

What makes this house unique

Park Slope, Brooklyn is a great neighborhood with many shopping and dining options, as well as easy access to all the cultural activities of New York City. It is a real neighborhood where people sit on their stoops in good weather and talk to their neighbors and people passing by.

Guestbook comments from the owner

All of us enjoyed immensely our stay in your home. You were a gracious, accommodating host and responded to every request. You and your wife were also very understanding that we had a 3-year-old. Your offer of toys was wonderful and kept Daniel occupied in the back garden.

Your home is ideally located and part of a wonderful, welcoming community.

Thanks again, Fred.

Fantastic, clean, big, and warm

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed in this beautiful and spacious apartment for a long weekend. My husband and 2 young daughters and I were very comfortable here and only wish we could have stayed longer. We loved everything about it; the location, the size, the decor, the beds, etc. The hosts were also terrific and very accommodating. I highly recommend it. We are looking forward to our next trip to Brooklyn.

Owner's Response: Thanks for mentioning the beds. Many of our guests mention the 12" of memory foam mattresses as well. Ellis

Wonderful stay at a wonderful place!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I really enjoyed our time in Brooklyn, and the place we stayed in made all the difference. It is a lovely apartment with lots of space - it was luxurious to have so much square footage in a city where it is at a premium. We particularly enjoyed hanging out in the living room. The dining area is great for hosting, we had eight people sharing a meal together with room to spare. The bedrooms are comfortable and homey. Ellis is a gracious host, and was helpful and friendly. The location is great too, it is very close to Prospect Park. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Brooklyn, I highly recommend this place!

Needs updating

  • 2 of 5

The apartment is a great size in a wonderful area, close to bars, restaurants and shops on 5th Avenue. Unfortunately there are a number of problems with the apartment and in need of maintenance and repairs. Both the front and back doors don't work properly and need fixing. The cooker front was hanging off and most of the gas hobs didn't work. The kitchen cupboards and doors are all in need of repair. The basement area where the children are meant to sleep smelt very strongly of damp and mildew, so much so that we did not allow them to sleep there. We found a dead and rotting pigeon in the back garden that had been there for many days. We were also provided with 1 key for 4 adults which just wasn't acceptable.

As our near perfect rating and our many return guests will attest, we always make sure that we are available to address concerns as soon as they are brought to our attention. The issues that Ben described were immediately taken care of.

Great place, great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a great girls' weekend in January at this lovely house. It's in a fantastic location, right in the center of great restaurants, bars, and shops. The home had everything we needed (supplies, linens etc) and Ellis and Sherry were available but not intrusive. The beds are comfortable, but sleeping areas are upstairs and in the basement (which might be tricky for people who have trouble on stairs). For cozy nights in, there is cable and also a connection to netflix, Hulu, and amazon prime. All in all a great find, and I would love to come back!

Great Area, Great Hosts

  • 5 of 5

This house is in the best part of Brooklyn! There's so much to do and lots of great places to eat. Park Slope is great for families, cool, young people and cool older people too. Ellis and Sherry are lovely, responsive hosts and the house is clean and comfortable. I'm looking forward to coming back.
