Beautiful property! Loved every minute. The loft was warm, but other than that it was perfect!
Our family of five enjoyed this property so much. We had fun fishing, swimming, and skipping rocks on the river. We enjoyed the fire pit at night and roasted marshmallows. We also all liked playing pool and darts when we were inside. The owner is very nice and super responsive. This was one of our favorite trips to the mountains. Sorry to hear hewon’t be renting any more!
The perfect secluded mountain getaway!
We had a marvelous time at this amazing property. I enjoyed sitting on the porch, listening to the rushing river, and watching the hummingbirds at the feeders. The game room was a hit with the kids and we all enjoyed playing in the river. We used the tubes to ride down the river and the kids liked the bridge and placed coins on the train track to retrieve flattened later. A little advice for future visitors, the home has 3 levels, but only one thermostat for the HVAC. When the AC is on, the bottom floor is very cold, the second level is comfortable, and the loft area is hot. Whoever likes it cool should sleep downstairs. We are already talking about returning to this property again.
We just returned from 7 days at A Lil Slice of Heaven. It was everything we were looking for and I recommend it to anyone that wants to get away from it all and unwind. The cabin had all the amenities we needed and if you need to connect to the world there is WiFi to give you that access. Our goal was to disconnect, so we limited our access to what and when we needed it. The Johnson's were available to answer the few questions we had so I am totally satisfied with our stay. It is off the beaten path so be sure that is your desire, but it was beautiful and the Toe river out the back door was a pleasure and we enjoyed tons of fishing and tubing from the bridge down to the cabin many times, it was a blast. A 30 minute drive to town was a fun time, we did it numerous times. We look forward to our next visit to Gods Country so I give this it a thumbs up! :)
Thank you for visiting our Lil Slice a Heaven. Come back and see us again anytime!
Put us in a great adventure but would not recommend
We visited the cabin with our 2 children (age 10 and 5). I do wish it was clearer that you not just off the beaten path, you are off the beaten path for 15 minutes with white knuckles. We got up early to enjoy our family vacation to find out that check in isn't till 3. I do wish it was clearer. I do feel the owner reached out to check us out but after that, he seemed frustrated that I called to even explain the key was not there.
The hot tub is very dirty and would not turn off. The beds were very uncomfortable and the mattresses seemed very old and dirty.
We could not get much to work from the TV, stereo, fire place (house fills with smoke), etc.
At the end of the day, you could see the love that was in the home at some point, but I can't recommend staying there. It is very inconvenient and not much of the luxuries you feel you are paying for do not work.
Candice, I am really surprised at your review! I wish you had reached out with any concerns, they are easily resolved . Off the beeten path is why you rent our cabin. I had communicated with you several times and had forwarded directions that specifically show The distance to the cabin. The check in instructions specifically state check in is at 4:00, however our house keeper was nice enough to allow you to check in while she was cleaning. All of the beds are less than a year old, the spa runs until it hits the tempature you set it to, and the extra large fireplace will not smoke in the house when starting if you have flames and push it back a bit. We have all 5 star reviews in the past, now with one acceptation. We pride ourselves with offering a wonderful space full of amenities and love sharing with people that want to disconnect. I am sorry your stay was not what you were expecting, good luck in your future endevors.
Had a wonderful stay!
Wonderful place to really get away. Fantastic river views & loved hearing the train come by.
We made some wonderful memories this last week at the cabin. Everything you could need was there - hot tub, pool table, tubes and even rods for cooking hot dogs and marshmallows. It rained just a little every day but we so loved sitting on the deck watching it. The children played in the river, watched the trains and generally just enjoyed each others company since we were all unplugged from our cell phones.
Thank you so much for sharing this cabin with our family. We will be back!
