Wow where do I begin, this location is amazing!

I am restricted by a handicap, and a heart condition. So we generally stay indoors and prefer other activities be relatively close. This home is nestled by surrounding woods, in a quiet location. At the time of our stay wildfires in the state were generating a lot of smoke. But like I stated earlier we like to relax indoors. The beach areas are a short drive away, as well as some wonderful restaurants. The home interior is cozy and extremely comfortable, with a complete kitchen for all your needs. Everything is clean, and the shower had plenty of hot water/pressure. I will book this location again!!!!!!!!!!

Brookings Hideaway!

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely stay at the Winchuck Resort! It is the perfect destination for a beautiful drive down the Oregon Coast and a close jump into the Redwoods!! The people of Brookings were so friendly and any needed supplies were easily accessed! A favorite nature walk was at the Chetco Point Park! Ken was so helpful and gave us great suggestions and recommendations.!! Thanks Ken, for sharing your Winchuck Resort!! A great get away for us Midwesterners from Michigan!

We stayed at this property for 3 nights and were very satisfied. The property is near to and easily accessed from the 101, yet we were not aware of any traffic noise. The house and furnishings aren't fancy, but neither are we and the price was fair, so we were happy. We prepared meals in the kitchen and found all the necessary equipment. No dishwasher, but that just meant that I got to watch the bunnies in the bushes while doing the dishes. The river/beach access is as described in the listing, although a little tricky at high tide. We appreciated the hose and sprayer on the front porch to wash off the sand when we got back from the beach. Our day trip to the Redwood Parks was accomplished easily from this home base. Chetco Brewing, breakfast at Superfly, Bakery by the Sea, and the Farmer's Market (amazing strawberries) were the highlights of our local exploration. Ken responded to all communications quickly and efficiently.

Very relaxing

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is so beautiful there. And I liked that we could walk our dogs right down to the beach without having to load them up in the car to get there. We would love to stay there again! Thank you Ken for being so nice.

It supplied all our basic needs and has wonderful beach access. See below

  • 3 of 5

Living room needs lamps, cannot read there in the evening. Sink taps in bathroom need cleaning out; tub cold water tap needs new washer. No ventilation at night in bedrooms.

Great birding when just sitting on porch. But greatly affected by mowing of the tall grass meadow on the adjacent property on our first day.
