This one-of-a-kind log home is surrounded by breathtaking views. It sits on 30 private acres at the foot of Mt. Princeton – one of Colorado’s 14ers. The architecture is divine with vaulted ceilings and twin lofts on opposing sides of the main room. The south-facing sun room is a great place to have a cup of coffee in the morning while watching for wildlife. If you like to cook or need to cook for a large group of people you’re going to LOVE our kitchen: Wolf stove and range with two convection ovens, 8 burners, a breakfast island, dining area and a huge grill on the expansive deck where we have more dining seating and views overlooking the city of Buena Vista and accompanying mountain range. The master bathroom has a claw foot tub if you feel like a soak while the other main bathroom is spa-style with a huge multi-jet shower. We have a 3-car detached garage with living quarters above it that include another spa-style bathroom, a fully loaded game room and an expansive bedroom. The game room has a poker table, pool table, dart board, play-station and big screen TV. If renting both buildings you can sleep 6 couples (two of our couches are convertible to full-sized beds) – each bed or couch is in its own private living quarters. The house is a 5-minute drive from Mt. Princeton Hot Spring Resort. It’s also a half hour or less to a dozen amazing hikes including the Collegiate Peaks (all three of them 14ers that surround the property). Buena Vista is the world capitol of Rafting and although this property is secluded and private it only takes 15 minutes to drive to town. Bird watching, gem hunting, mountain biking, 4-wheeling, star gazing – really anything you could ask for in a mountain getaway!

I'm a Colorado native having lived and worked most of my life in and around the Denver area. My goal was always to own a piece of Colorado mountain land and I finally achieved it when I bought this place.
Why George chose Buena Vista
When you stay here, you'll know. They don't call this area Buena Vista for nothing. Literally every direction you look is a breathtaking view - and I'm not just throwing that term around lightly. Location is everything and this house is in a perfect spot. Far enough from civilization where you can experience TRUE quiet and untamed nature - yet close enough to town where it's no biggie when you realize you're out of garlic. I also LOVE to hike and bike. It's one of the main reasons I live in Colorado - and this spot is prime for both. Aside from the location the house itself is pretty special. Log homes are an experience in-and-of themselves. There is so much texture and a kind of calming effect that's hard to describe - or maybe it's because it's ALL wood - not synthetic building materials... you really have to experience it for yourself.
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
WEDDINGS: I'd rather not host weddings or other events consisting of large groups of people. To even consider hosting your wedding I'd need to charge $6,000 or more. Please don't ask about weddings if you're not willing to pay this exorbitant up-charge. (If you're hosting a small wedding of around 30 people, feel free to contact me and we can probably work something out)

We found it to be a great place! We we're surprised by a snowstorm, so finding it in the dark was a challenge. The snow made it even more beautiful. George was easy to contact and work with! We would love to return sometime.
We had a great experience staying here! The cabin was more than we ever expected. The owner was very attentive and helpful. The property was gorgeous with beautiful Mt. Princeton right behind the cabin. It was the best Christmas vacation for our family and we are already planning our next trip. There are lots of nearby activities such as the Hot Springs, the Boulder Park, and Monarch ski resort. We had a slight issue with the internet but the owner went above and beyond to try to fix the issue! Five-stars for sure!!
Beautiful, cozy, and the perfect weekend getaway!
My friends and I had a wonderful stay on our weekend away from Denver. The place is set up so beautifully and it was so nice to stay somewhere that was so well cared for. The grounds are really gorgeous and you can see Mount Princeton right out the front door! It was a short ride into town and to the relaxing Cottonwood Hotsprings. All in all, a wonderful visit!
Wonderful House and Spectacular Views
We had a fantastic stay, from the high-end kitchen, the comfortable rooms, and the great game room in the garage. The surrounding views from all part of the home are breath-taking and it's a great fit for a family, or group looking for a place to stay. I would stay again in a heartbeat.
Just what you think a luxury log cabin should be.
The house is absolutely beautiful and filled with lots of things that make it feel homey. Books, games, a poker room with a pool table , binoculars, and the warmest woodburning stove with lots of wood ready. And talk about stoves! They have a Wolf range worthy of a fine dining restaurant. The view is beyond spectacular, couldn’t stop taking pictures. While we were there we saw pronghorn antelope, a very large stag, chipmunks, and deer. We sat out on the second floor porch in the morning and just took it all in. While it seems very secluded, the lovely town of Beuna Vista is only 10 minutes away and Salida is about 30. Lots of great shopping if you want to do that too. In short, this property has everything a vacationer could want. It’s a very clean, nicely decorated, relaxing home away from home. Worth every penny.
