The property boasts a very unique deck that sits virtually 'on top of the water'. A fabulous, private location to have evening cocktails or sun bathe for the day. The views will relax and soothe you. Maybe even stay out there for dinner.

In the evening you can retire to the large screened porch where you can play games or read a good book or just take a snooze! You don't miss a thing from here because you are looking right out to the lake only 35 feet away!

We have a separate bunk house 50 feet behind the main cottage that sleeps two more in bunk beds. The bunk house has electric power and lights.

Sebago Lake offers fabulous fishing, boating, swimming and numerous other summer activities. Bring your boat or USE OUR CANOE FOR FREE and enjoy long summer days on the lake. There is a mooring available for your use (at your own risk) or tie up on your private beach.

No smoking is allowed in the cottage. One pet, dog or cat, is allowed for an additional non-refundable $300 pet fee (per week). New water well installed in 2008!

About John Donahoe

I am a licensed architect and professional musician. You can find me playing saxophone and electric violin at various venues in the southern Maine lakes region during the summer season. Stop by and say hello.

John Donahoe purchased this house in 2007

Why John Donahoe chose Raymond

When I saw the location of this cottage I saw magic. I put in an offer and as soon as we closed on the property I tore down the old shack and designed and built a new 'adirondac style' cottage in the same location. With a huge sandy beach and shallow entry in a quiet cove ... This is one sweet property!

Excellent lakefront cottage!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the lakefront cottage late August 2017 and had an amazing time. The posted description of the property is accurate. The cottage is well maintained and clean with hardwood floors throughout. Excellent large screened porch overlooking the lake was great for evening dinners. Very nice sandy beach that was great for the kids. There is a deck over the water that gives a nice view of the beach so it was easy to keep an eye on the kids swimming. The fire pit on the beach is a few yards from the water. I would highly recommend the property.

Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

Cute cottage on a quiet cove with lots of amenities. Used his canoe and also brought kayaks. Rented a boat and teens had fun tubing and skiing. Saw the Eagle's nest, jumped off Frye's leap, hit the drive-in in Bridgton, Seacoast Adventure and disc golfing. Spent nights star gazing on the deck! John called to make sure we were all settled in, etc. Great lake getaway.

Charming Maine Cottage Nestled In The Pines

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week with our 3 boys and had the best time together in this cottage. We had plenty of space to spread out, hang out and enjoy the refreshing sounds and sights of Sebago lake. The boys loved the sandy beach and the endless swim races out to "big" rock every day. They even had the watchful eye of mother duck who swam in daily with her babies to participate in the splashing. Each night we gathered around the fire pit to share s'mores and laughs! Once the fire died we retreated to the wonderful screen porch. If you are looking for an authentic taste of summer on Sebago Lake then our family highly recommends this cottage.

Our Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

The Family, or should I say three family's, 6 adults, 2 children and a baby decided tis year to rent a cabin on the lake. Our selection turned out to be great. The cabin was perfect for all of us. It looked OK in the pictures but it was perfect in size upon moving in. Two bedrooms overlooked the lake, one with doors to the porch, which has a wonderful view of the lake. There are neighbors but this cabin is a little closer to the lake, so we did not hear them. The beach was great for the kids, sandy and rocks for them to jump off of or swim to. My daughter loved the deck over the water to relax, eat lunch and do her exercises. We enjoyed it for just tranquil sitting. Being located in a cove, the boat traffic was of no concern and quite enjoyable to watch go by at a distance. It will be a summer to remember.

Very nice beachfront cottage

  • 5 of 5

This home was perfect for our vacation with 2 adults, 4 kids, and a small dog.

The cottage itself is in good condition, with a recently remodeled interior. It's not huge, but certainly adequate, and the cathedral ceilings in most rooms give it a more spacious feel. The extra half-bath is really important with 4 kids in in the house! The 14-year-olds loved the separate bunkhouse (which has electricity).

There's a good sized deck built out on top of the water, and a mooring buoy to tie up a boat if you have one. The beach itself is also very private and pleasant. Sebago's water is warm, and although the lakefloor is muddy, once you get out a few feet the water is quite clear. The house is situated on a quiet cove in Jordan Bay of Sebago, and powerboaters seemed respectful in not buzzing by too early or too late in the day.

The house is on a dirt road, so it's quite private, and what little traffic there is can't go quickly, so it's safe for biking or walking your dog. The Frye Island ferry is within walking distance.

The owner was responsive, fair, and pleasant to interact with. We hope to return some day!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your nice review. We are happy that you enjoyed you stay at our cottage and welcome you back soon. We agree that it is a nice quiet, private spot on Big Sebago Lake. Although we provide a free boat mooring, many people simply bring their boat up onto the nice sandy beach and tie up there. It's also a great beach for kids.

A week in the woods

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from great secluded cottage . Coming from the city it was a breath of fresh air to be at a spot with no noise. My family had a great time rented a speed boat for the week and docked it right outside the house on the private beach. I thought it was very nice of John calling us on the first day to make sure everything was alright with cottage. The cottage was great the extra 1/2 bathroom in one off the bedrooms worked out well one off the best features was the screened in porch great spot to read morning newspaper with coffee overlooking lake. I would recommend the place to friends and plan on going back next year.
