Gorgeous lakefront property practically in Glacier NP
Wow....what a perfect location on a gorgeous lake. The property is amazing....stayed in the main house which is right on the lake with a fantastic back porch and a new grill. House just updated and is bright and much larger than it looks in the photos. Lake 5 is crystal clear and the new pier as well as the new swimming pier are perfect. Can’t say enough about this amazing property. Will for sure be staying here again!!!!
Very interesting unique property
Great and wonderful area. Truly unique. Lots of improvements to the property, but a good amount of original retro throwbacks. We had a wonderful time enjoying the property, docks, swimming, paddle boards and Glacier. We hear there are lots of plans are in store for the property and outbuildings. Its a peace of heaven.
Lovely lake property right around the corner from Glacier Park
We had a lovely stay at the Whistle Stop Retreat on Lake Five at the end of July. We had 2 adults, two teenagers and a dog, and everyone thought the house, lake and property were a lovely oasis. The property itself is beautifully preserved and has lots of 1940s flair, including an original stove (it works well!) and fantastic dishes, etc. We loved the mix of old and new. The beds were all very comfortable, the linens and fuzzy blankets were lovely and the fluffy towels were divine! We sat on the artist cottage porch every morning with tea and coffee, and the kids loved the dock, the diving raft and the paddle boards. The games, big volume of Shakespeare and the table on the patio for meals outside were all a big hit, too. The only downside is proximity to the railroad tracks, so be sure to bring earplugs even if you are a sound sleeper- you'll need them. But I suspect the train noise is a reality for most properties you could rent in West Glacier. With the lake and the proximity to the West Glacier entrance to Glacier Park, I don't think there's a better place to stay in the area.
We are so glad to hear that you and your family had a lovely time during your stay at the Whistle Stop Retreat, and we sincerely appreciate your feedback and amazing review. Based upon your experience with the noise from the train we will make earplugs available to all future guests.
