About Mana Winston

Patrick Winston has a background in Hotel Administration (Graduate of Washington State University-1974) and Pat held a specialty contractors license, both perfect training for accumulating condominiums, upgrading to the highest standards and offering excellent prices for potential guests looking for 'AFFORDABLE QUALITY'. Pat and his wife Mana who live on property handle cleaning, repairs and check-ins of the day to day operations themselves which is quite rare in today's Waikiki vacation rental market. I am a 'HAND'S ON' person and the only original owner (since 1981) in this smaller 66 unit, 5 floor condo/hotel who is 100% dedicated to assisting directly with all facets with each and every guest daily to help insure 'A QUALITY VACATION EXPERIENCE'. This is our main business and not a side business or part-time business run from off-island or through a real estate agent. In the Hotel Industry I would be called 'OLD SCHOOL' where I value the comfort and experience of each guest and am hands on in my approach over the last 33+ years.

Why Mana Winston chose South Oahu

Back in 1980 when the Hawaiian King Hotel was being converted to the Hawaiian King through my furniture business the 'Winston Company' I furnished all 66 of the apt/hotel condos for the developer. The location was ideal, the apt. style layout of this condo was unique and having a full kitchen was an obvious advantage over the areas hotel rooms(no kitchens). As a licensed specialty contractor in the 1980's I knew that this condo would easily take a $15,000-$20,000 renovation and be able to offer much more than hotel rooms or other condominiums running twice or triple or more of my rate. I knew this was a win/win situation for both owner and future guests. With 'Hands On Involvement', a rarity in today's Waikiki vacation rentals something valuable could be offered that was a rare item and that was all the above put together: Hands on owner, living on property, buying and doing quality renovations of this condo and others I purchased one at a time and went thorugh the same process of offering condo's at 'bargain prices' and with this great ideal location helping many tourists gain access to assist in making their vacation a better one. it has worked well over the last 33+ years with thousands of 'happy and satisfied Guests'.

What makes this condo unique

There are just many to state. Staying in a proven condo (today the prospective guests must be aware of Internet scams/crooked offers and run down rentals). We have hundreds of positive reviews throughout the Internet and in travel books with a very large number of repeating guests, a condo recommended in many travel books over the past several decades and condos that are continually repaired, updated and thoroughly cleaned is a win/win situation. Location,Location and Location and high marks/recommendations in many travel books such as Hawaii Revealed, Frommer's Lonely Planet, Hidden Hawaii and other's.

This is our third stay at Pat Winston's Waikiki Condos. This is our second stay in this suite as shown on and also called "The Honeymoon Suite". The "Virtual Tour" showing the building, pool area, laundry, BBQ and condo #403 is spot on and accurate.

As always, everything was organized upon arrival and the condo was spotlessly clean. We took pleasure keeping it clean and all of the supplies were in the usual as we want to feel comfortable in the condos we stay in. We were in holiday mode immediately. Pat is always on hand to take care of any requirements if needed and lives on the same our condo - close by. This is the best value for money and "Waikiki's best Kept Secret". Thanks Pat for a wonderful 5 week stay.

Great Location in the heart of Waikiki, but best yet is an owner of multiple units who has resided on property for 33 years and has been involved in Hotel Management (four year degree in Hotel Administration), had a Contractor's License and has done numerous total and complete professional renovations. Others speak highly of the cleanliness, comforts not found in other rentals and the location on a higher floor, away from street noise and knowledgeable owners (Pat and Mana) who are written up in many travel books as a favorite(only our condos are listed as 'Frommer's favorite for the last 15+years) or a 'Star' type of operation. Thousands of happy guests with many returning every year.

Perfect Waikiki getaway

We stayed here for two months on a recent work visit to Honolulu and we were extremely pleased with this choice. The location is perfect - it is just a short walk to beautiful Waikiki beach, with lots of convenient stores and great restaurants nearby, and excellent nearby bus links to Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, Chinatown, downtown Honolulu and more. In the middle of buzzing Waikiki, this is a quiet and restful oasis - it is set back from the busy road, so there is not too much traffic noise, and all the other guests were quiet and considerate. This is definitely a great option if you're looking for a quiet and relaxing base from which to enjoy everything Honolulu has to offer. The building has a great pool and shared courtyard area for relaxing outside, as well as a shared grill option for cookouts. The service we experienced was also faultless - the staff at the front desk were friendly and accommodating, and our rental hosts were extremely gracious and helpful with all our queries and requests. The condo itself is very well-equipped - very comfortable, extremely clean, and furnished with high-quality supplies and fittings, all of which we found to be excellent value compared to other properties we researched nearby. Because we were working during our stay, and needed to remain connected to colleagues back in Europe, the high-speed and very reliable internet was extremely valuable. In sum, we had an extremely positive experience and would not hesitate to recommend this rental.

This is Our Favorite Condo over the last 30 years of Fall/Winter Stays-A 6 Star Experience.

We have learned by experience that when you look at Pat's rates, what is offered, totally licensed and legal full time business and his complete package we do not feel it can be beat espicially for longer stays. We know it can't be beaten--been there and done that. Look at the virtual tour on this site and you can see exactly what we mean in Pat's clear and recent photos, reviews and 30 year track record/history-It is all there.

Why deal with a lock box, keys mailed to you, owner's living off property or off Island or having difficulty in contacting the owner or lack of paperwork, reservations, Invoice and etc. THIS IS A PROFESSIONALLY RUN BUSINESS.

Great deal

I have stayed here before and plan on coming back again. Host was great and condo just like home with everything one needs for a long stay. Beach is close and property has large pool great gas grill and superb laundry facility. Condo was very clean and kitchen well stocked for a gourmet cook. Lanai was private and quiet and a great place to talk and relax. I recommend this condo to anyone looking for great value

Best choice in Waikiki

We stayed here for 10 days in December 2011 and we were absolutely satisfied with the condo. We have never seen a cleaner place and a friendlier and more helpful owner. Pat treats his guests in a very familiar and helpful way. Ask him any question, he has a answer, you don't need to buy a travel guide book. We will come back surely. FANTASTIC

Owner's Response: This couple from Europe gave us 5 couples at one time from Europe (Norway, Holland, Spain and Germany). We enjoy people who enjoy Hawaii and this couple with their Mustang Convertible seem to be everywhere and we have bumped into each other several times which is unique. Christmas and the New years period is an excellent time to visit Waikiki and Honolulu as there is lot's going on.

Third stay and still perfect

This is the third year I have stayed at one of Pat's condos and as usual, everything was great. The condo is always ready when I arrive and very clean. Plus cleaning products and other essentials are provided, unlike many others where you have to buy them yourself.

Still happy to recommend for a great stay in Hawaii.

This is My Third Monthly Stay in One of Pat's Condos.

I've Stayed in one of Pat's Condos for a month on 3 separate occasions. A couple of times I have booked with less than 2 weeks notice and it worked out OK. Great Location. Walking distance to the beach, shops, restaurants and bars.
