My sisters and I stayed in this cottage for our annual girls trip. It worked perfectly for the 6 of us. Close to the Plaza, perfect location for visiting wineries too. The property was exactly as described. The backyard was awesome, great for relaxing with good company and good wine! Check out the Sonoma Market, we were really impressed.
The house furnishings are definitely old but comfortable. The layout of the house is not ideal with the only shower being in the jack and jill bathroom. The house suited our needs for 3 couples looking for a wine trip weekend. The biggest issue we had was that the hot tub was only at 65 degrees when we arrived (The owner stated it would be set to 95) and it took a whole day to warm up.
The home is conveniently located to downtown Sonoma yet is on 2/3 acre property which is nice.
The downside is the home is beyond shabby chic. The furniture, window coverings, bedding, towels and decorations are old and/or not in good repair. A small investment to update these items could make this a nicer place to stay.
We enjoyed the house and the open kitchen. There is a shortage of bowls and dishes if you are cooking for more than 4 ppl but we made it work. The bathroom between two rooms worked out OK but we were happy to have the 1/2 bathroom. A working fireplace would be nice! Overall, the house was comfortable and homey.
We had such a nice time on our visit. The beds were very comfortable and the cottage larger than I expected. We enjoy hot tub time and the kids ran around in the backyard. Over all a very nice visit. Thank you!
Had a lovely couple days in Sonoma for girls getaway. The house was great in that we each got our own bed and the location is only a 7 minute drive to Sonoma square, the main shopping/eating area of Sonoma. The house is cute and sits on a lovely large, private lot. The bed I slept in was quite comfortable.
The house itself is very tired. The walls are literally cracking. I was afraid the house would come crashing down if we had an earthquake. Also, the main bathroom is oddly placed between two of the bedrooms, making it a little awkward to get to if you were not sleeping in one of those rooms. There was, fortunately, a make-shift toilet in the laundry/mud room area. The bathroom was really rather gross as the shower was very old and crusty and, as I said, the walls are cracking everywhere.
The kitchen was decent with an operating oven and refrigerator. However, the pots and pans are very warn. They were once non-stick but much of the enamel has been scraped off and would be a health hazard to actually cook with.
I would not stay here again considering the state of the house and the cost. However, if the owners put some money into fixing up the house, it really COULD be ideal!
Several yoga studios, art galleries, gardens and etc.
Sonoma Valley has over 30 wineries and tasting rooms.
The town plaza has farmer's market on Tuesdays @ 5 pm with fresh local produce, flowers and crafts.
