About the property

Townhome, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Imagine relaxing by the beach - listening to the sound of the waves and watching another scenic sunset from your screened-in porch at our Sunrise Sunset Townhome on beautiful and remote Cape San Blas, Florida.

If you need a vacation far from the maddening crowds and back to nature, this is almost paradise. It's the best place to walk for miles along the sandy-white beach, highly rated by Dr. Beach, on the Forgotten Coast of Florida. You can walk by the beach at our home, or head over to the beach by the lighthouse and collect shells.

Our townhouse has everything you need for a most memorable vacation - either for a couple or you and your extended family. Parents, children and grandchildren create unforgettable memories here! In addition, this is a pet-friendly beach and your well-behaved dog is welcome to stay with you!

The master bedroom (King-size bed) has its own private sundeck overlooking the Gulf where you can relax, enjoy the sun, and watch the dolphins swim by or watch TV. A guest bedroom (queen-size bed) has a small balcony overlooking St. Joe Bay - sunrise is spectacular from the bay. This bedroom also has a TV. The third bedroom has a bunk bed with a full-size bed below and twin above. and a TV!

Sunsets are visible from the screened-in porch and the sundeck above. The living room is your home-away-from-home - complete with cable TV, DVD/VCR, stereo/CD, books, magazines, puzzles, games, and a queen-size sofa sleeper. All you need to bring are casual clothes, food and drinks, sunscreen, and a laid-back attitude! If you need to bring your computer, wireless internet access is available.

Nearby is St. Joseph Peninsula State Park - a wonderful park for scalloping, finding shells, snorkeling, taking a walk on the nature trail, have a picnic at the playground, or enjoy a day on the beach. This beach was rated the #1 beach in the U.S. for 2002. Apalachicola is a small historic town only 20 minutes away - antique and flea market shopping, seafood restaurants, fishing charters, and touring old homes await you there.

You owe it to yourself to Escape to the Cape! It is a great place to retreat from the rat race, get away from crowds and traffic, and truly have a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Come unwind, rejuvenate your soul and refresh your spirit!

Guestbook comments from the manager

Our week here has been everything we hoped for and our expectations were high. We've had lots of rest and much refreshment of the soul. This is such a beautiful area and the home is comfortable in every way. We leave with so many happy memories to recall as we return to the "real world". This place and time will always be very special to us.

This place is heaven :-)

  • 5 of 5

My husband, myself, our Golden Retriever along with two of our friends and their 6 month old baby visited for just under a week and stayed at this little slice of heaven. We were looking for something in the Cape that was directly on the beach and we couldn't have gotten any closer.

The location is perfect. Beautiful beach with clear water. We stayed right after Isaac passed through, so the water was pretty choppy, and there was some seaweed that had washed up...but the sand is perfect...white, fine, easy to walk on...and somehow never gets hot to the touch even though it was in the 90's and sunny while we were there.

About the condo:

When we walked in we were amazed at how large the condo is inside. The interior is updated and very nicely put together, very comfortable too. The views are of course amazing. We watched the sun go down from the large screened in deck or upper back deck off the master bedroom every evening. From the upstairs front bedroom, you can watch the sun rise from the balcony. The kitchen was fully stocked with enough pots and pans and utensils for cooking full meals.

Our only complaints were the following: whoever was staying there before us must have not cleansed the dishes properly...the smell from the glasses was terrible. We re-washed everything we planned on using as soon as we got there. There weren't any hand towels downstairs, the only ones provided were one handtowel per upstairs bathroom (2 total). There wasn't any handsoap throughout the entire condo...there were however, an empty soap bottle sitting by every sink...wierd. The charcoal grill was pretty rusted out...but I understand things rust when you are that close to the water. Lastly, the beds...they were very sqeeky and the mattresses very lumpy. However, as soon as you wake up to that ocean view, your aching back quickly resolves! :-)

We would stay here a million times more. Despite the negatives, which aren't even that bad, we loved everything about it. Can't beat the price, location, pet friendly atmosphere of the Cape, and getting some COMPLETE relaxation. We are already looking to re-book this place for an even longer trip sometime next year...just hope they get new mattresses by then. ;-) We are looking foward to some more night time beach bonfires!

Beautiful Bay and Ocean views

  • 4 of 5

We love to stay on the Cape! This unit was recently renovated and is in very nice condition. The best part is where it is located. You can see the sunrise over the Bay in the morning and spectacular sunsets over the ocea at night. The ocean is literally right out in front of the condo. The only complaint we could find about this unit was that the cleaning crew did not do a really great job getting it prepared for our visit. It was obvious that the floors had not be vacuumed in a while. The counters and the dining room table had not been cleaned in a while as well. Besides that we were very pleased with our stay at this unit on the Cape!

Wonderful long weekend at Sunrise Sunset

  • 5 of 5

Meg and Jim,

We enjoyed our long Labor Day weekend getaway. Tropical storm Lee made the weather cloudy and windy, but the townhome was perfect for us to relax in when the storms rolled in. We loved having the screened in porch and the kids loved the bunk beds. Thanks for all fo the helpful info you sent us. We plan on coming back next summer!

Thanks again!

Owner's Response: Thanks, Sharon! I thought of you during that weekend and hoped that tropical storm Lee didn't bring too much rain. We're so glad you had such a great time & enjoyed our home. I had meant to send a "welcome home" email but got so busy at work. We really enjoy hearing from our renters; part of the joy in being involved with our property, not just totally turning it over to an agency. Working with Old Saltworks has been a great arrangement. We have gotten to know several of our renters and have many returning. Glad to hear you'll be returing too! Just let us know - you are more than welcome at Sunrise Sunset.

The Very Best FL Vacation we have ever had!

  • 5 of 5

Meg & Jim:

Thank you for sharing your beautiful condo with us. It was better than described; I just can't say enough great things about it! The view was fantastic and with the ocean being steps out of your back door, it can not be beat! Cape San Blas itself is awesome; no traffic, no noise, very few people - just fantastic all the way around! We will be back for years to come!

Owner's Response: Thanks Jason & Tammie! We're so glad you had a great time. Part of the fun of owning a rental home is hearing from our renters and knowing our home provided treasured family memories. Staying at the Cape gives families some real quality time; unlike the crowded Destin/Panama City Beach areas where too much time is spent in traffic, overcrowded beaches and driving around to all the entertainment venues. We'll be glad to welcome you back anytime!
