About this property

Cozy family townhouse in a great location in Homestead, FL. Close distance from the Everglades National Park, Florida Keys, Biscayne National Park, Homestead Bayfront Park, and Homestead/Miami Speedway.

Basic amenities have been provided including fresh towels and bathroom supplies, such soap, shampoo/conditioner and toilet paper. You also have full access to our washer and dryer if you need to do laundry. You will need to bring your laundry detergent.

Our kitchen is at your disposal. Feel free to use our cooking ware, utensils, and appliances as needed. We have plenty of storage space available for groceries. Please put your dishes in the dishwasher after use.

Our home is a non-smoking environment. Do not smoke outside or in front of the house. We like to ensure the house smells fresh at all time. If you need to smoke, please do so outside away from property. Failing to follow this rule will result in loss security deposit and extra cleaning costs to remove smoke odors.

We have a STRICT NO PETS POLICY. If you arrive with a pet, you will be required to leave w/o a refund and might incurred extra cleaning costs.

Clean, convenient, as advertised

First, this is not a luxury hotel at Miami Beach. However, it is clean and well-kept. It has all the pots, pans, utensils, etc that you need. It's close to Everglades NP, Key Largo, and to Biscayne NP. The host, Sylvia, was responsive and attentive. I'm leaving top rating because it was exactly as advertised

Everglades

Fairly good, but the Fridge is old, rusted, noisy, unable to control moisture and needs to be changed by a newer up to date unit. The worst detail of the stay were the very slippery shower floors, we had to buy shower mats to avoid falling while showering. Other than that, I guess we got what we paid for.

Homestead Stay

I stayed for 12 days. I was worried about getting in after the last review. I had to contacted the owner thru VRBO, to give me the code. She reminded me I couldn't check in before 4:00 without a fee. I didn't get there until after 7. The handle was broken on the kitchen faucet. The owner had alerted me to this. I had no use of the kitchen sink for 2 nights and 2 days. I asked for part of a day's refund and was ignored. The house was nice and the outside area in the back yard is nice and private. In the front, there are ducks and chickens, so you need to watch where you step. There is also a work VAN parked crosswise directly in the street behind your car, so getting out is sometimes a problem. There were ants in every room. I asked about ant spray. That question was ignored. There was some kind of sticky film on all the counters/kitchen table. Once I wiped that all down - after I had water in the kitchen, it was better. The refrigerator runs constantly and it sounds like a Mac truck.The noise is disturbing. The stove burners were wrapped in aluminum foil. Pans sit at an angle. I took the recycles out both Fridays. It was never picked up. The house was otherwse comfortable, neighborhood quiet. It was well equipped with appliances and dishes, etc. So many there was no empty cupboard for your pantry items. Lots of nic-nacks around. Not sure I would stay here again. Too many worries about breaking the rules.

Worst rental experience of our lives.

If the owner had the same consideration for her guests as she does for the high standards of her rental, this experience would not have been a nightmare. Two of our group own multiple VRBO units on the West Coast and all of us are experienced and respectful renters. This particular rental was no exception: We signed the contract & paid in full in February for an April two-night rental. Several days ahead, I started monitoring my email & text messages for instructions on how to access the unit. No communications. On day the rental was to begin, I finally called her at 4:30 pm (check-in after 4 pm) and left a voice mail that we were on our way to the unit, please advise how to access it. Also left a text message. We wanted to stop and shop for dinner but decided against it as we weren't sure we even HAD a rental. We finally arrived an hour or so later, tired, hungry, anxious, and STILL had heard nothing from Silvia. I called again at 5:45 pm and said we were standing at the front door & to PLEASE ADVISE US IMMEDIATELY! It was only then that she instantly gave us the access code for the lock. She may have her reasons for guarding the code so closely, but there is absolutely no excuse for not telling us ahead of time that was her plan. There was no reason not to communicate clearly with us. Her voice mail greeting was in Spanish, which we don't speak, so we don't know if she had instructions there. Her behavior was totally unprofessional and what's worse - she never apologized or offered any kind of explanation for dragging us around like that. As for the unit itself, it was nicely decorated and very clean. Beds were ok. Living room was quite comfortable. Her rules were very strict & we observed them to the letter. But her disrespect for her guests and their right to clear instructions for a stress-free arrival (for all parties) ruined this experience for us. Would NOT RECOMMEND unless access issues are resolved PRIOR TO arrival.
