About Claudio Meira
We are in our 40's married and live in the D.C area. We love for you to be guests at this cabin called Jack Russell's Ridge.
Claudio Meira purchased this Chalet in 2008
Why Claudio Meira chose Berkeley Springs
On our first visit to Berkeley Springs, we were drawn to the character and charm that the town offers, and we soon found ourselves in the office of a local realtor ready to make an offer on a cabin near Cacapon State Park. The cabin had “good bones” but had been neglected by the previous owners. We spent the next year renovating “Retriever’s Retreat” (https://www.vrbo.com/130256) and making it into our haven from our hectic schedules and pace of life in DC. Soon thereafter, we found another home in need of some TLC, and we quickly began work on “Jack Russell’s Ridge.” (https://www.vrbo.com/138293). As pet lovers, we are pleased to be able to share our pet-friendly homes with your family, and we hope that your time in Berkeley Springs offers you a chance to enjoy the company of family and good friends.
What makes this Chalet unique
This vacation home is a bright and airy two-story chalet. The wrap-around deck opens to a fenced in yard–perfect for pets! The large back yard has a fire-ring and hammock and provides ample space for guests and pets to enjoy the beauty of the West Virginia foothills.

The house is terrific , well stocked and equipped and all top notch . We enjoyed the deck and the frogs peeping away and the family of red foxes living under the shed . We plan to stay again .
The property was as described. However, we were inundated with spiders on the last morning before we left.
Thank you for the feedback. I hope you have a great rest of your trip, and please come back soon! Also, I will let our handyman know about the spiders though we never had this issue before.
Great visit to Berkeley Springs. This was our 2nd stay at this chalet. WIFI, TV, grilling, laundry room... all top notch. Close proximity to C&O Canal and Western Maryland Rail Trails for cycling in Hancock, MD. Also only a 50 minute drive to Frederick, MD where relatives live. Very convenient. We will be back.
Thank you for choosing to stay at our cabin again, Brent. We aim to provide guests with a clean, tranquil, and modern getaway home, and we are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to your next trip to the cabin.
Cozy Berkeley Springs Cabin
I loved staying here. The house is cozy and well-equipped and the owners were very attentive to our needs and quality of our experience. The location is ideal, allowing for a quick ride into Berkeley Springs to enjoy all the town has to offer, while affording quiet solitude and privacy. I'd definitely stay here again if my travels take me back to the area.
The house is lovely, the location is perfect, and even the drive into town is beautiful. Anyone who’s looking for a place to stay, look no further. I’ve never been disappointed with Jack Russell’s Ridge!
Lovely weekend spot
The house is terrific and really well stocked. We didn’t have a chance to take advantage of it all—too windy for the fire pit, and we were too lazy to figure out the TV and all the electronics. But we enjoyed the deck and the kitchen and the frogs peeping away at night. And my partner was particularly impressed with the fancy toilet. Highly recommend this lovely cabin!
We aim to provide guests with a clean, tranquil, and modern getaway home, and we are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay. The new bidet toilet seat helps turn the bathroom into a private spa oasis.
