Still fresh

Handmade traditions hold up this century-old, magnificently preserved Craftsman home. Built in the Californian style of hefty, hand carved wood, its stately columns, pocket doors, and ornate window frames are as charming now as they were at the start of the 20th century. Heirloom furniture – wooden cabinets, iron bedsteads and ornate dining chairs – confirms the closeness of art and craft. That’s a secret your host is well aware of. When you’re feeling peckish, stroll over to Larchmont Village’s cafés and boutiques.

Salt of the earth

Your host is a baker whose brand new business is just hotting up – you’ll find her sweet, organic treats served up in local cafés. Her daughters are budding equestrians, so take note if your little ones won’t dismount the red rocking horse.

Baker's century

One hundred years, and a bit extra, Wilton Place is a glorious example of the American Craftsman movement. Early risers will find a perfectly practical kitchen where breakfast is best made from scratch—and equally enjoyed, either at the round, glass-topped wicker table, or in the cool shade of the overhanging eaves outside. There are original fireplaces in both the living room and the master bedroom, and enough fascinating design motifs to keep you occupied throughout your stay.

About Owner / Property Manager

onefinestay gives you the chance to stay in someone's place while they're out of town. You get to live their life for a few days and nights.

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room. And there's service to match.

Nobody wants to be a tourist, so our homes come with recommendations from the people who live in them. For everything else, we're here 24/7.

Why Owner / Property Manager chose Hancock Park

A land of celluloid dreams, where many flock from near and far to script the unfinished endings to fables of their own cinema success… welcome to Hollywood Boulevard.

The name itself calls many things to mind – predominantly, the powerhouse entertainment industry and the bevy of silver-screen stars. Part of you feels as though you have been here before. And you have, whether enchanted in the theatre or nestled snugly at home.

Film buffs delight in the greasy spoon options at Mel’s Drive-In, a Sunset Boulevard staple serving up fresh milkshakes beneath a young George Lucas on the set of ‘American Graffiti’. At Osteria Mozza, Mario Batali et al boast Italian cuisine that gives its New York counterparts stiff box office competition.

Watching from above are the Hollywood Hills - a once pastoral setting that gave way to showy real estate in the 1920s but still retains much of its historic charm. There’s something magical about the way the city sparkles over Mulholland Drive after sunset, and the deeper you venture into the labyrinthine network of narrow mountain roads, the more glamour and intrigue you’ll discover, from bougainvillea-laden balconies to intimate cafes and country stores.

As the scene is set, the lights spark to life and the camera rolls, Hollywood will forever offer an auteur assortment of answers to the question, ‘What’s your dream?’

What makes this house unique

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room, with online payment and confirmation. You get the same attention to detail and personal service too.

Every home is properly cleaned before and after you stay, beds made (we can even do hospital corners) and bathrooms kitted out with luxury toiletries. There’s a maid service if you want it, as well as other hotel-style amenities.

Once we’ve helped you settle in, we’re just a call away, 24/7. If it’s something we can’t solve over the phone, we’ll pop over to lend a hand.

And because nobody wants to be a tourist, our homes come with personal and unique recommendations from the people who live in them – places to eat, things to do and adventures to go on.
