The custom-designed fireplace has glass crystals in place of wood logs which give a pleasing sparling appearance to the dancing flames. The room has an abundance of large windows to cast a natural light glow to the relaxed seating for a number of guests.Across the room is the 10 1/2-foot dining table (can be extended to 12 foot), with upholstered chairs under an opulent ceiling crown and a crystal 18-light chandelier. The antique china cabinet finishes the dining area.
The arched entrance hall from the formal area leads to a well-appointed kitchen to delight the chef and sandwich-makers. All appliances including the accessories: coffee pot, (coffee and sugar, creamer, sweeteners), blender, malt blender, crock pot, mixer, and more. Salt, pepper, spices are near the gas range. The honed black granite island holds the double sink with touch on and off faucet plus an immediate boiling water faucet for tea (and more). The large island has counter seating for 7 with an additional tall table which seats an intimate two. The Kitchen is complete with a wrap-around sectional sofa which rivals the living room sofa for comfort. A wall of tall windows overlook the outside private patio area. Flat screen tv is tucked in above the large frig.
Up the turning stairs is the landing leading to two bedrooms, each with queen pillow-top beds, double closets and decorated for comfort and rest. A small desk area is for your laptop and wi-fi connections. The hall separating the two bedrooms leads to the front terrace with seating for two. From the landing down the other hall is the theatre room with kitchenette, small frig, microwave and a laundry closet. A single pullout sofa is available for an additional guest and the roll-away is available for one more. The room is reminiscent of Mardi Gras with its posters and original paintings. In the corner is the bar and the wide screened TV fills the adjoining wall complimented by the surrounding resonating speakers filling the room with sound. Across from the theatre room is the double glass doors leading to the side balcony with relaxing lounges and rocking chairs oversees the private patio below.
There in the outdoor kitchen, you can serve your family and friends from the large gas grill directly to the island counter offering seating for 10, with glass-crystal fire pit inlayed in the granite. You won't miss a single play of the game from the outdoor TV. A charming fountain provides the tinkling sounds of the water fall to the patio and the balcony above. With a 7.5 x 12.5-foot swim spa and hot tub, the patio is a garden paradise. Spa towels provided. A comfy swing chair and cushioned love seat offers additional relaxing comfort. The home offers one full bath upstairs with double sinks and tub/shower combination, and ½ bath downstairs. For our LSU fans, we are 19 mins to the stadium, affectionately called Death Valley! The campus is beautiful; see Mike the Tiger, the bell & clock tower, and enjoy a picnic on the authentic Indian mound; and great places to eat on north side of campus and at the southern gate. For Southern University fans, we are 23 mins. from Jaguars’ Mumford stadium.
Only 1hr, 18 mins (75 miles) to the heart of New Orleans, Bourbon Street and the French Quarter, for the sweet sound and smells of the many restaurants and music around every corner.
