The open plan, cathedral ceiling upper level features top of the line GE kitchen equipment, a bar, dining and living area. Both bedrooms on the lower level have an ensuite bath/shower. Located in the Olde Yard Village complex guests have access to the full range of amenities and services there, while enjoying total privacy in luxury surroundings.

~ Virgin Gorda is the place to escape the commercial hustle of some other Caribbean destinations. Alamanda at Olde Yard Village is the perfect place from which to explore and enjoy the British Virgin Islands.

~ Olde Yard Village has recently changed its name to VIrgin Gorda Village Hotel. Even though you may still come across both names in various advertisements, be reassured that they are one in the same.

About Connie

We live near Chicago, IL where the winters can be brutal. When we began looking for our winter get away home we knew it had to be somewhere hot, tropical and relaxed. Our search took us to many different islands in the BVI's and even to other countries, but we always found ourselves coming back to Virgin Gorda. On our trip back in the spring of 2003 we stayed in one of the rooms at the Olde Yard Inn when Olde Yard Village was just a business plan on paper. We had one look and were sold on the spot!

Since we were one of the first to invest, we were able to choose which type of condo we wanted along with which building we wanted it in. Construction began and we were finally able to stay in our new home away from home in December 2004. We come back every year as much as our schedules allow, and enjoy being able to share it with our guests when we're not able to be there.

Why Connie chose

We love the central location on the island. It’s close to the markets, restaurants, night life, yacht harbor and some of the best beaches on the island. It’s situated to allow the seemingly never ending trade winds to keep us cool without the need to turn on the air conditioning.

We also like being a part of a small closed community resort. It never feels crowded. We have our own swimming pool, fitness center, tennis courts, bar, restaurant, spa and hair salon. We never have to worry about maintenance and upkeep when we’re not there, as it’s all taken care of for us. So when it’s our turn to come back for a visit we always know we’ll be able to come back and unwind, relax and enjoy.

What makes this condo unique

Free use of our Suzuki Grand Vitara jeep which comfortably seats up to 5 adults. We'll drop it off at the ferry dock or airport parking lot for you upon arrival.

We have the only two level, two bedroom condo in the Rental Pool. The bedrooms are on the lower level which allows complete privacy from the living area on the second level. The open plan on the second level is spacious and allows for better views.

It is not uncommon for the electricity to go out on the island. Every condo in the resort is hooked up to a main generator, so no need to worry about food spoilage, air conditioning, or lighting.

Great Locale, Wheels, and Laid Back Adventure

Connie (the owner) was excellent in communications, sent me lots of "what to do / where to go" lists prior to arriving at OYV. The Suzuki "jeep" was great for getting anywhere and having a local plate made it that much easier to park without hassle. The condo was just off the main road heading across the VG, and very close to SpanishTown.

Comfortable 2bdrm with air, although we rarely used it with the TradeWinds and screen doors! Facilities were available onsite, but we didn't really use them because we were going everywhere! Staff are excellent!!

There was some "critique" I read about roosters crowing. Well, welcome to the Islands, man! I have been on many islands, and roosters crow, whether you are in the country or right in town. It is part of the life.

Highly recommend Connie's place. You will not be disappointed.

great stay on virgin gorda!

We had a wonderful stay! Will definitely stay again. Location is ideal. The condo is beautifully appointed and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and assist you. The grounds and pool are lovely. Conie and Andrew are excellent hosts. I would recommend this property to anyone.

Connie is great!

Right as we were about to board the plane, I realized that my son's passport was expired! I emailed Connie to let her know that we might not be able to get into the BVI. She told me not to panic and that she would see what she could do from her end. Well she went above and beyond to help us by calling the head of immigration for the BVI and making sure we could get in! What a relief! This is why I like to rent from here. You would never get help like that from a big resort. Once we arrived on Virgin Gorda, we were met by Sabrina with the jeep and it was smooth sailing from then on. The place was great with plenty of room for us and well located to all the attractions. We loved our time on Virgin Gorda!

family friendly

Beautifully decorated and lots of space for a family. Everybody there from the front office to the pool bar and grill were so friendly and helpful. Having the jeep right there at the port ready for us to borrow was so amazingly nice! There was snorkel equipment and coolers and everything you need for a beach day so didn't have to pack it in suitcases. Would love to stay here again!

VG the Carribean Secret!

We had such a great vacation in Virgin Gorda celebrating mine and my husbands 50th birthdays with our teen daughters, even though we took car, lightrail ride, 2 planes rides, taxi ride, and ferry boat ride to VG then into Connie and Andrews jeep driving on the British side of the road!! All worth it! Connie and Andrew are the best to work with! My husband and I are sure we hold the record of most questions asked prior to the trip! Connie is prompt, friendly and full of great info about their condo and the island. We also could repeat all the great reviews others have shared. We loved the condo and enjoyed the trade winds every night coming off the Atlantic. It was so nice having the staff clean up all our sandy messes and fresh towels etc. daily. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. We ate dinner a few nights (great food and reasonable prices too) from the on site restaurant and Painkillers and Rum Punches poolside while the girls swam in the pool. The condo is in a great location on the island as it is so close to all the beautiful white sand beaches! We went to a different one every day to swim and snorkel. Fantastic. Little Trunk is a hidden treasure and parking is only for a local vehicle which Connie and Andrews jeep applies. Loved it. Great snorkeling. Savannah beach was one of our favorites too. Beautiful and great snorkeling and probably less than 5 min. from the condo. We were grateful to use the jeep, snorkel fins, beach mats and cooler on our jaunts. Absolutely loved the Jumbies BBQ dinner and show. (we think we had the best table- poolside right next to the music shack. Food delicious, all u can eat and show and band music- really good. Call for the free taxi that will take you to and from so you don't have to drive the mountain road back in the dark. We grabbed a really good BBQ chicken fryer at the M&M Bakery along with pastries. We did a number of our own dinners using the condo kitchen. Everything we needed to cook meals. We also enjoyed coffee in the mornings on the balcony. The Baths, Spring Bay, Devils Bay- fantastic. The girls loved climbing through the huge boulders. Amazing. Our absolute favorite outing-Tour of Necker Island (Gumption and his glass bottom boat take you over) and encountering all the endangered animals. Flamingos, giant tortoises, iguanas, Ibis, and adorable Lemurs that licked our hands and jumped on our shoulders! We look forward to returning to VG for another great vacation!
