We bought this cabin as a vacation get away for family and friends. Since then we have had the opportunity to live here full time! Our family uses the cabin often, so the kitchen is well equipped and the beds are comfy. We love to hike and kayak and cook dinners for the family. We have two grown children who live in San Francisco and Oakland.
Ginger Howard purchased this cabin in 2001
This area of Idaho, Wyoming and Montana is just gorgeous. There are so many beautiful areas to visit - mountains, waterfalls, rivers, fields of wildflowers, throughout the summer, great snow all winter - you will want to be outdoors every day. Late spring is the best time to see the animals with their new offspring, and October brings the spectacular golden 'quaking' leaves on the aspen trees.
Quiet, beautiful trees in all seasons, overlooks 2000 acre ranch, rolling hills, yet 7 minute drive to tiny cute town with amazing big grocery, health foods, Austrian pastries at Pendls, more. Hiking trails surround us.
The owner thought of everything, and the cabin was very well-appointed. You will need bottled water for drinking (because the well water definitely has an odor to it), but otherwise I cannot think of anything we needed. Kids loved being in a cabin, and the upstairs master suite was quite comfortable. We wouldn't hesitate to return!
The Colter Cabin makes you feel like you've stepped back in time while you surf the internet on the extremely fast Wi-Fi or watch Apple TV on the large HD television.
The hosts are friendly, prompt, and provide many informational resources at the cabin to learn about and enjoy the area.
We truly enjoyed our stay!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Colter Cabin. It a wonderful, comfortable, classic log cabin with all the amenities of home. The area is peaceful and beautiful. I highly recommend the Colter Cabin for your holiday stay in Teton Valley or the Grand Teton National Park!
Peaceful perfection just about sums it up. We loved coffee on the upper deck every morning and having a quiet comfortable place to relax after all of our adventures. We marveled at the construction of the cabin and all of the attention to detail.
It was perfect for my wife and I. We had a short stay but the cabin was very nice. If we ever make it back to Idaho we will be staying here again.
That can was a perfect home away from home! Love the fireplace!
