Drift back in time to the elegant splendour of Georgian Bath while staying at the most renowned address in this famous city, the Royal Crescent. This apartment has been meticulously restored to its former grandeur yet made even more comfortable with the addition of 21st century conveniences. Located next to the famous Royal Crescent Hotel, this exquisite apartment is situated in an ideal position to take advantage of everything the idyllic city of Bath has to offer.
The layout of the apartment would best be described as 21st century loft-style living with 18th century palatial grandeur. Entry to the apartment is from the Royal Crescent through large double front doors into a well-maintained entrance area. The front door to the apartment opens into a suitable hallway lined with original cupboards. At the end of the hallway is a very comfortably sized bathroom decorated in distinctive stone tile work. Turn to the left and you enter the main reception. The magnificence of this room is inspiring. During the restoration of the property, it was discovered that a number of original cartouches (17 in all) had been covered by secondary walls during the past century, leaving them well protected. These c1767 plaques have been incredibly preserved, adorning the walls in their original form once again and lending the room the aura of a small-scale palace.
To the right of the reception is a well equipped, thoughtfully designed kitchen.
Exit the drawing room to the left and find yourself in a lovely secluded, private garden. Enjoy a cup of tea, a glass of wine, or dinner on a lovely evening in this private sanctuary.
This apartment is one of a kind and well suited for that distinctive traveller. Whether for a romantic weekend or a quiet retreat from a busy workweek, this setting is a very special haven for the discerning individual.
My husband and I spent a week in this gorgeous and beautifully restored apartment. Although it is just one big room, it feels that you are in the most fabulous suite in the most expensive hotel with the added bonus of having a top of the line kitchen and a great outdoor garden to have dinner and drinks.
The location couldn't be better. The fabulous Royal Crescent Hotel is right next door and you are in the most desired residential area in all of Bath.
We spent 6 days in Bath in this beautiful, well equipped apartment. The building and apartment reflect the Georgian period and elegance. Pam and Tim were incredibly helpful. The apartment is very close walking distance to Bath and all the sights. It is clean and very comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed to eat in if you want to cook a bit. The garden patio is so peaceful and the building is very quiet. What a great spot!
We had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful apartment for a week in June 2015. On earlier trips to Bath, we had imagined what it must be like to stay at the Royal Crescent and it did not disappoint. This is a lovely, beautifully decorated (and large) apartment in the most fantastic setting. The owners were extremely attentive in helping us get settled as this was our base for a week of sightseeing in the area. We did not have a car, but the Crescent is only minutes away from restaurants, shopping and trains. I would not hesitate to recommend this VRBO. We loved it here.
We visited this beautiful apartment for a late summer weekend. It was wonderful. It has all the Georgian elegance I'd hope for from a place on Bath's famous Royal Crescent. So very peaceful, with the added bonus of a garden, and yet so close to the centre as well. I can't recommend it enough. It's the perfect way to discover the town. The nearby Circus restaurant, only a couple of minutes walk, is one of the best meals I've had in Bath too. A real treat.
I booked the apartment as part of a celebratory surprise for my husbands 30th birthday. We love Bath and have always wondered what's it's like inside a Royal Crescent building so this property was ideal. From the moment I contacted Pam she was 'on the ball' and provided me with all the relavent information. I knew the break away and the surprise would be worth it. The property doesn't disappoint, it's wonderful and as the title says "magical". As soon as you walk in you feel the vastness of the place. The room is huge, one luxurious 1 bed pad, it's great. The kitchen is well equipped and Pam and Tim add nice touches like fresh milk, bread, jam, juice, butter, biscuits and wine. The bathroom is also lovely. I would certainly recommend staying here when visiting Bath.
We ate at The Marlborough Tavern which is a short walk from the apartment (to the right) and the food and atmosphere is nice. Worth a visit.
This Royal Crescent apartment is absolutely stunning. It is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. Pam and Tim met us to let us in and showed us around. The location is excellent. We walked to everything. We sat outside in the garden and enjoyed the wine that Pam provided. Hot air balloons flew directly overhead more than once. The kitchen is adorable and fully equipped. Pam had the refrigerator stocked with eggs, milk, butter, jam, orange juice and wine. The bathroom has a great tub and a rain shower. We loved returning to the apartment every evening after sightseeing. I referred to the apartment as "The Palace",
