SAINT LOUIS 1 is located on the central street of the Saint Louis Island, rue Saint Louis en l’Ile, in the middle of the Seine River in the 4th arrondissement, which is the most famous and prettiest area of central Paris.

This wonderfully one-bedroom has come out of a full renovation and tastefully mixes old-world furnitures with modern comfort.

The furnishings have been cleverly selected to confer a truly elegant spirit. A fireplace wooden-built enlightens the dining and living room, where parquet floors and high ceilings will make you feel welcome straight away.

The mezzanine can be used as storage for luggage. Two addittional beds are availble upstairs to sleeps kids or short term visitors!

The quiet bedroom features a queen-sized bed (160x200) and a large closet that will hold your belongings. The colour scheme is warm and soothing.

The kitchen with charming stone tiles is fully equipped with a refrigerator, oven, stove, microwave, washing machine with dryer..

You will also find Cable TV, Wireless Broadband Internet, and unlimited land line phone access.

Who are we?: My wife and I live outside Paris where we grow our 3 kids.

We love Paris and in 2005 bought this apartment that we have fully renovated during one year.

We did refurbished it as we dreamed it; One day, retirement time will come, we plan to use it for us.

In the mean time we are delighted to welcome guests that enjoy touring Paris and resting in the center of the city.

St Louis island is magic, you really feel that you live in the old days but with the modern amenities...

Something unique: During the renovation we found original wood painting from 17th century. We have renovated these and you will discover them on the wall above the sofa!

The non standing Loft Mezzanine: The Loft Mezzanine is available to store your luggages once emptied in the cupboards. So you get clearfloor for you to enjoy the place and the cool atmosphere.

The Loft Mezzanine is accessible via the lader that you can see on the picture.

The apartement is ideally design for a couple. To respond to growing demand from many of you who want to visit us with friends and family we have also arranged two sleeping beds (mattresses) upstairs, with individual lightning.

We can now welcome up to 4 guests!

About Daniel

My wife and I live on beautiful St Louis island with our grown up kids.

This address enable our family to draw close as our children study at 15' walk Sorbonne University!

You can see my son Valentin sitting next to me on the above picture at the Saint Regis restaurant, on the island.

You will most likely meet him at check in!

On week-end and summer we retire to our country side house next to Versailles.

We love Paris and in 2005 bought this apartment that we have fully renovated during one year.We did refurbished it as we dreamed it;

In 2016 we bought this second apartment to double our living space on the same floor of the same building, (VRBO ref # 4132163). Now we own all the 2nd floor!

We can leave the 4 of us and enjoy the confort of 2 bedroom's and 2 bathrooms!

When we are outside Paris we are delighted to welcome guests that enjoy touring Paris and resting in the center of the city.

It's the neighborhood!

Eight days gave us time to not only enjoy our neighborhood, but the opportunity to "know" the men at the green grocer's, the boulangerie, the wine store, and even the pharmacist! We will always call it "Our Nest" for that is what it was.....in the morning we usually just dallied over coffee and a fresh baguette, and in the evenings we listened as "our neighborhood" gradually settled for the evening.

"Charming" doesn't do it justice, thought it is that. We loved every minute! We ate our way up and down " rue St. Louis en I'le" and highly recommend the St. Regis Brasserie, the two Breton crepes cafes toward Notre Dame, Sorza, and MOST HIGHLY OF ALL "L'ilot Vache" less than 2 blocks toward La Rive Droite. That was our very best meal of all time! ( And we are experienced European eaters!)

Ala was our initial contact, and Valentin after that. Each get 5 *****.

My only request: a written explanation in English of how one uses the combination washer & dryer, water & dryer heat selecting, etc. The appliance remains a total and complete mystery though we did somehow manage to wash & dry (sort of) 1 LONG pair of blue jeans by some act of God! The tiny dishwasher is the perfect size! We never used the ceramic cooktop (too many wonderful restaurants), and the coffee maker and the microwave were "standard issue." The WONDERFUL LIFT/ELEVATOR made this location so easy for my husband, and we are very grateful for that!

Do use the Frebreeze/fabric spray on the carpet in the lift each day; it makes it smell fresh!

Perfect for our two days in Paris!

Unfortunately we only made time for two days in Paris. This apartment was perfectly located. Easy access to Metro (St Paul) and to all the popular sites in the city. Our family of four (12&15) walked EVERYWHERE except for taking the fabulous Metro back to apartment one late night (midnight) from the Concorde Place (ferris wheel). While we spent very little time in the apartment, it had all the amenities one would need for any period of time. We were met by the owners son who was very sweet, polite and informative. The apartment was excellent and well decorated. Overlooked the lovely narrow Rue St Louis. (Main Street). Our boys especially loved the loft. It was steps away from delicious breakfast spots, creperie, and Berthillon ice cream. And just ten minutes walking takes you over the various bridges to Notre Dame, Marais and Latin Quarter. We even walked to the Gare Du Lyon both ways with our luggage. Really could not have had a better location in a perfectly parisian apartment. Highly recommend!

Wonderful experience as always

This is the 3rd time we have stayed in the apt and/or the adjacent apartment on the same floor. We love the atmosphere & wonderful resturants on I'l Saint t Louis. It is my favorite experience to get up in the morning & walk to one of the bakeries on the island for fresh Baguetes.

There is a meat market, grocery, wine shop & cheese shop, so you don't even have to go out to find all the ingredients for a nice dinner, after a day of sigh seeing. It is ideal for a couple

It is close to shopping and the major museums.

I recommend the apt with out reservation.

L'appartement - la meilleure adresse- on peut se promener partout, a quelques pas de Notre-Dame. Toutes sortes de services le long de la rue, soit la boucherie, boulangerie, creperie, pharmacie, marche/epicerie et un fleuriste. J'espere y revenir en septembre,2017.

Charming apartment in an excellent location!

The apartment has a lovely decor and a prime Paris location. All shops, cafes and excellent restaurants only steps away. Ile St Loius is a beautiful neighbourhood, clean, quiet and picturesque. There were a couple of small maintaining issues (loose cabinet under kitchen sink, shower mount broken) but the owner is helpful and conscientious so no doubt these will be repaired soon. We would definitely return to this apartment on our next visit to Paris!
