About Shera Griffo
I am a Registered Nurse and Lawyer in Texas, originally from Rhode Island, my husband and I have been coming to Santa Fe for many years and finally bought this property so we can share with others. The weather, the ambiance, food, and mixture of different cultures is what makes this place truly "the city different"! I enjoy working in my garden here, visiting the wonderful museums and Native American pueblos, it's a fabulous place!
Why Shera Griffo chose South Capitol
Guadalupe Casa has received all 5 star ratings on this site and another listing platform. Joyce is a super host This neighborhood is close to so many amazing things that Santa Fe has to offer. Only a 10 minute walk to the Santa Fe Plaza, Canyon Rd. and many local stores and restaurants. 1. Kaunes Market- a local gourmet grocer with wine, beer and liquor- 5 blocks 2. Capital Coffee-5 blocks 3. Nambe Drugs-5 blocks 4. Trader Joes- 1.5 miles 5. Clafouti's - a French Cafe-1.2 miles 6. Restaurant Martin-6 blocks 209 East Buena Vista was built in the 20’s. At that time it was called Mahaffey Tract, and all the lots from Don Gaspar to us were subdivided to the same size. The original adobe was just the bedroom kitchen and bathroom area, configured differently. Renovations were done some time after the mid 90’s, again in 2007 and again in 2017 by the current owners. An artist lived in the house in the 80’s-90’s and was the one who did the mural of Guadalupe on the side of the garage, she will certainly watch over everything carefully. The previous owner added the living room and landscaping during the 2007 renovation. The current owners reconfigured the master bedroom and bath to include the master closet and much larger bath, as old adobes were built with many small rooms, not acceptable by today’s standards. They also added a new central Air and heat system, although the living remains on radiant heat. The adobe retains heat and cool very well and so this takes some tweaking between the heat/air and windows. For more historical information visit the website of The Inn of the Turquoise Bear. Considered one of Santa Fe’s most important historical estates, the inn was once home to Witter Bynner, a prominent resident of Santa Fe for almost 50 years. The Inn of the Turquoise Bear is located on the corner of East Buena Vista and Old Santa Fe Trail.
