La'al Cottage superb
The property is fantastic, decorated beautifully and the furnishing are very comfortable.
The bedroom is large with a very comfortable king size bed.
All me and my wife are thinking is when can we stay there again.

Beautiful accommodations, excellent location
This is a lovely space for one or two people. Convenient to everything in Cockermouth and the Lake District. Communication and Instructions are clear, straightforward, and timely. Supermarket and good restaurants are short walk, parking was not an issue.
Exactly as pictured!
No surprises, no problems, no complaints!!
The flat was very clean, well decorated, smelled fresh, really had everything we needed for a great stay. We would definitely recommend it to anyone!
Parking was a bit tight, but that’s always true in smaller villages. It’s very close to pubs and shopping.
This cottage was a delight
This beautifully renovated Heritage listed cottage was a delight to stay in. It was very comfortable, had good heating too, much appreciated on the coldest Bank Holiday ever recorded! The lovely view from the cottage included the area where Wordsworth's school had been, and the church where he was baptised. Walking to the town was lovely, over a footbridge across the river or down through the market square.
A little gem
Lovely little cottage, sparkling clean and neat in a lovely quiet corner of Cockermouth. Everything inside is just as nice as the pictures. We found plenty to do in town, restaurants and pubs a plenty. Aspava was our favourite place to eat and we loved both the Castle and the Bitter End. The Lakes are within easy reach and all the well signposted walks. Parking is tight at the cottage, but we managed to get on the cobbles every day..just. The only thing that stops us giving the cottage five stars is that our stay was during the first cold snap of the season and we didn’t find the cottage as warm as we’d have hoped. You can reset the heaters, but they were set to come on at 17 degrees. However, this didn’t spoil our stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this quirky little cottage.
Hi Sylvia. Thank you so much for your lovely review and i am so pleased you loved the cottage and found lots to do in Cockermouth.
I'm sorry that you had problems with the heating. As you say, the radiators were programmed to a minimum temperature of 17 degrees. However, this is easily overridden by pressing the plus buttons on the radiators which raise the temperature to whatever is comfortable for you. In light of your experience, we have set the radiators to a minimum of 20 degrees during these chillier months.
Thank you again for taking the time to review La'al Cottage,.
With kindest regards.
Beautifully updated cottage in a historical setting, perfect for a couple
The compact kitchen is very well equipped with all you need to prepare a nice meal. For the ingredients, a large Sainsbury is a 4 minute walk away. If you prefer not to cook while on holiday, there are many pubs and restaurants within a 5-6 minute walk for eat in or takeaway.
There’s a pedestrian bridge across the river at the bottom of Cocker Lane, adjacent to the cottage, allowing easy access to the town center.
The WiFi was fast and reliable. There are many channels available on the television, making the occasional rainy day entertaining.
The bedroom and bath upstairs continue the modern update. Well lit & well fitted.
We look forward to returning.
