The cabin is comfortable, rustic, and has a laundry room with washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen, living room with sleeper sofa and fireplace, queen size bed in the downstairs bedroom and has a large bath with tub/shower combination. There is a loft with two twin mattresses, perfect for children or adults young at heart. The front porch is equipped with furniture for enjoying the wooded view and listening to the sounds of the rushing creek, mountain breezes and viewing wildlife. There is a gas grill for your cookouts and television (Directv satellite) . You will not hear any traffic noise and will truly enjoy the solitude of the 5 acres of wonderful woods.
From the cabin, enjoy visiting Waynesville (20 minutes), The Blue Ridge Parkway is just 10 miles up the road with beautiful waterfalls and scenery along the way, and scenic Lake Logan is just around the corner and is now open to the public for boating, kayaking, swimming and fishing for a small fee. Asheville and it's Biltmore Estate is a short and scenic 30-40 minute drive. Sunburst Trout Farm is a short drive from the cabin.
The property features McClure Creek - secluded with wilderness behind - yet low enough off of Rt. 215 for very easy year round access. The sound of the creek's tumbling water alone at night is enough to soothe the soul ! The cabin has a wonderful porch for listening to the creek, and taking in the fabulous mountain air and scenery.
Walkers or hikers may be interested to know that easy and pleasant walks abound without having to get into your car. Heading along the unpaved country road along McClure Creek will take you past rolling pastures and creek side homes - some local families and other's summer cottages. Continue to climb the ridge each time the road or trail forks, and you will wind up high above Lake Logan featuring several trails, including the primary one to the left along the top of the ridge ending at a wooden gazebo built in the early 1930's.
