The overall property (outside of the cabin) was beautiful. The saving grace for this location was the beautiful creek that runs by this place. We were disappointed with the cabin itself. Upon entry it had a very musty smell and come to find out the a/c that the cabin had was just a small window unit in the bedroom. I understand in the mountains that a/c is not always needed, but mid afternoon the sun pours in to the cabin and really heats it up. I also understand that it is "rustic" but that shouldn't compensate for the amount of spider webs throughout the cabin. Supposedly there had been a cleaning crew that comes in before check in, but i feel like all they did was sweep, change sheets, and take out trash. We ended up sweeping all the debris off the porch, cleaning cabinets, and cleaning outdoor furniture before using. Also all screen doors had large holes in them so leaving the wooden doors open to get a draft was not an option. Thankfully there was Febreeze there to help with the mustiness of the cabin. When checking in the key that lets you in is only for the side door that immediately brings you in to the laundry room which gives you a bad tasted to start with due to the floor in that room feels like it is about to collapse at any moment. Luckily we did not spend a lot of time inside during the day and the creek was wonderful to hang out at. We ended up not staying the last night due to the power going out and with no a/c and no water we knew we would not be able to get a good nights rest, so we cleaned up and waited until 9:00 pm to see if it would come back on, but it didn't, so we headed home instead of staying. I know that wasn't the properties fault since everyone on that street did not have power. It just was unfortunate since the surrounding areas and towns were so beautiful and nice and we were going to adventure out some more after checking out on the day we were supposed actually check out. I would not stay here again unless multiple improvements were made to this cabin. I am not too terribly picky and i hardly ever complain, but this cabin just was not what i had pictured after seeing pictures and reading about it.
Peace in W North Carolina
Great location for our Smoky Mnt/ Asheville visit. Very peaceful and quiet road. Everyone enjoyed the creek in front of the cabin.
Wonderful weekend getaway
This cabin is perfect for relaxing and getting away from the hustle and bustle. Can't wait to come back!
Relaxing beautiful cabin in the woods
Wow! Such a beautiful secluded property. Clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Can’t wait to see it in the spring time. We loved that we could bring our dog, hear the creek from the front porch and no traffic. It was just the retreat we needed. Thank you for letting us stay in your home!
RUSTIC CABIN ON CREEK
Spent five wonderful, relaxed nights at this rustic cabin by the creek last week. It was secluded and very off the beaten path. Everything we were hoping for. The cabin was private, clean, and peaceful. Our last morning wild turkeys were strolling in the side yard as if saying goodbye.
The cabin location was perfect for all the sights we were able to go out and see. We drove the Blue Ridge Parkway both directions. We also went to the small towns of Cherokee, Maggie Valley, Canton, and Waynesville. Also spent one day in downtown Ashville. Each day we adventured out to discover amazing mountain views. We also enjoyed eating at local mom and pop restaurants. There is a lovely lake nearby that you are able to hike to. We saw elk along the highway near Cherekee. That was something I will always remember. Most fantastic were the stars at night, they truly put on a show for free! From the cabin property we viewed the stars like we have never seen them before.
Cabin is located by a babbling creek that was so calming. Property also had two fire pits we were not aware of and that was a pleasant surprise. One was located by the creek and the other up the hill in the yard. The cabin was up a long drive near the top of the mountain. It was sooooo relaxing. All and all we would stay here again. Thumbs up!!!!
