About Ann Jolie
My husband and I live in Gig Harbor. We originally purchased a home that came with a small building on the water that used to be the Cromwell ticket booth. We remodeled this home for our children to stay while visiting. We offered this waterfront cabin on VRBO and loved the idea so much that we expanded our ownership of beautiful homes and now offer them for you to enjoy. We love doing this and sharing these amazing homes with others to enjoy.
Why Ann Jolie chose Olalla
We bought Driftwood Beach Waterfront home from the bank in 2016. It was previously owned by a hoarder and was in very bad shape. It took us two years and lots of love and work to make this home the spectacular home it is today. The location is perfect, close to Gig Harbor, Costco and downtown for shopping yet so private you feel like you are on an island. Colvos Passage is very deep water and is a favorite passage way for the Wales and large steam ships that come through. While working, we would often stop to watch a cool ship go by or watch whales swimming their way to the Gig Harbor. The beach changes everyday. Some days you will find large jellyfish and crabs and others you will find some of the most amazing pieces of driftwood. During low tide you can walk down the beach to Al's Market and grab a beer or ice cream, just be sure you don't stay to long or you will be swimming home.
What makes this House unique
Close to Ferry to Seattle, 11 miles to Costco in Gig harbor and some amazing restaurants in Old Town. About 15 min to Tacoma Narrows Bridge. Kayak from your front yard, fish from your own beach or just sit for hours watching the wildlife. I am tempted to move into this house, it is so amazing but we built it for you so I will just have to be content to go and visit it when it is not booked.

One Step Closer to Paradise
This was the perfect setting for a family reunion that brought my clan together from several continents after more than fifteen years. Driftwood beach has a peaceful, unifying grace, particularly for city-dwellers unaccustomed to the marvels of nature. Over the week that we spent at the house our conversations—on the different decks and in the wonderful kitchen—were often interrupted by sightings of bald eagles, lazy seals sunning on a log, whales heaving out of the water. And one afternoon, two baby racoons showed up on the deck, and were called back to the kit by a rather aggressive mama. In short, this house is a harbor of peace. Over a week the weather changed dramatically, even in July: from mists and light rains, to humid and radiant sun. Bring a sweater, your favorite poets, a sketchbook, watercolours, and a few camera lenses.
The natural environment could not have been the star of our stay without the amenities of what can only be called a luxury beachfront house. This is a palatial place with a homely feel. The kayaks were good fun for the sportier in our group. Walks along the shore at low tide were moments of discovery and serenity. Most of all, Annie was ever ready to answer the small number of questions that we had. Driftwood Beach house will bring you a step closer to paradise.
Quoting my 2 year old granddaughter. It’s Amazing. Can’t top that review
Beautiful Vacation Home
This property is in a beautiful location, close to nature, with beautiful views. Everything is new and well-designed. Having 4 bedrooms with their own baths was ideal for our adult reunion. The owner was very helpful and responsive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Exactly as described
The house is perfect, well situated, and exactly as described in the listing. It was great for five adult couples. Ann was quick to respond on all communications.
Perfect family getaway to the pacific northwest
This property is amazing and managed very professionally. It was a perfect fit for our needs. We really enjoyed cooking and eating in the beautiful kitchen while keeping an eye out for the wildlife right outside the windows (dolphins, seals, otters, deer, and bald eagle!). We plan on returning in the future.
Fantastic time with the entire family.
We were looking for a place that could comfortably accommodate ten people, was quiet and tranquil away from the hustle and bustle and yet not totally remote. Jackpot!!!
The kitchen, eating area and the outside deck could not be situated any better. Everything you could possibly need is in the kitchen, there is plenty of space and the view is really special.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are all updated. There is a good chance you will be taking some great ideas back with you for your own home.
You could easily just stay at the house, but we did want to experience as much of the area as possible. Here is what we did:
Took the ferry to Seattle and explored the Market and waterfront area.
Drove to Mt Ranier and did some hiking.
Drove up to Port Townsend and took the Puget Sound Express and went whale watching. (Highly recommend)
Went to Gig Harbor on multiple occasions for different meals.
Back to Seattle for a Mariners game.
Kayaking and just hanging out at the house.
This is a great property with phenomenal owners!!
Thank you so much. What a nice review. Happy you are happy.
Close to Olalla Winery and just 11 miles into Old Town Gig Harbor. Gig Harbor offers some of the finest restaurants around. Brix 25 and Netshed are two of my favorites. Costco is 10 minutes away from you. Jump on HWY 16 and you are under 15 minutes into Tacoma. Enjoy some time at Pt Defiance Park and Zoo or head to North Tacoma and explore the museums.
