My happy place
We have stayed here several years as a guest of friends for a few days This year we rented ourselves and I enjoyed it even more. The house is very comfortable for a crowd together in the kitchen and living or off doing their own thing. The view is magnificent and the pool wonderful. The owner is very responsive. Don’t rent it because we hope to come back next year.
Comfortable, great location, fantastic stay!
Two families with kids from 5-18 had a great vacation. The house was beautiful, well equipped and very comfortable for the 8 of us. There were so many places to sit and enjoy the view. The pool was pristine and much enjoyed during our stay. The location is great - walking distance to town, restaurants and beaches. The kitchen, and really the whole house has everything you need. Susan was very responsive and helpful. We already discussed wanting to go back next year. Thank you.
The place to stay in a Maine
Wonderful property and a lovely owner. It was everything we thought it would be and more
WOW...views from every room
I parked my car to check in and didn't have to move it all week...used the harbor walk every day for eating, shopping and exploring. In between we utilized the pool...which also has ocean views! This place was meticulously clean. I highly recommend it!
Great house and location!! Highly recommend!!!
Our family has rented this house for the last several years and we love it. There are lots of rooms for everyone to have alone time and two large rooms for everyone to gather, and the pool is great. Well equipped kitchen and dining options. Short walk to downtown and Jesse's seafood market, nice playground near by and the farmer's market on Thursday morning is down the street. Views of the harbor from both decks are delightful and make for a lovely cocktail hour. We wouldn't go anywhere else.
The view of Rockland Harbor form Atlantic Point is breath taking! The home is wonderful. It is very large and spacious to say the least and the location is perfect. The main street of Rockland with it’s shopping and museums is only a short walk away. The house is so beautifully laid out that everyone had lots of room and it is a great place for young children to play. We used the pool everyday and had dinner on one of the two patios every night.
The kitchen was beautifully equipped. It was a pleasure to prepare meals while looking at the sail boats coming in and out of the harbor. The beautiful view even made clean-up fun. Our granddaughter loved the children's museum which was just short walk down the road. There are many great restaurants but honestly it was more fun eating at the house. There is a great meat market and sea food market only a few blocks away. You can order your lobsters from Jess’s fish market and for only $3 they will cook your order for you and then you just go pick it up. Easy peasy! Mr. Wiggins owns the meat market just a block from the fish market and I had probably the best Delmonico steak I’ve ever eaten in my life from there. We enjoyed walking into town every day to see the wonderful art galleries, museums and to enjoy coffee and cookies at the bakery. The local people were gracious and welcoming. Susan was a great hostess and was prompt in returning our security deposit. We had a wonderful time.
Rockland, Maine is a great place for visiting and exploring Midcoast Maine. Historic Main Street provides local shopping and dining opportunities and day trips in any direction provide ample rewards...a ten minute drive to Camden Harbor, twenty minute drive to the quaint fishing village of Port Clyde where you can catch the ferry to Monhegan Island and just an hour and a half drive from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, Maine. The Farnsworth Art Museum is a close walk along with numerous galleries and live entertainment at the Strand Theater. Penobscot Bay is the place to sail when the weather is fair on one of our many windjammers, islands to discover, mountains to climb in the spring and fall, and winter activities as well. Here you can return to the more simple life you may have never lived. Rockland people have always welcomed visitors and treated them with friendliness and respect. You will find a quality of life that will make you want to stay forever!
Golf: Samoset Resort Golf Club is an 18 Hole PGA Oceanside course. Known as the 'Pebble Beach of the East' and is a 7 minute drive.
