Quiet and cozy.
If I ever come to Maine again, I would not hesitate to use this property again. It was quiet, quaint and cozy. Everything you needed was provided. Sive was very protective of our privacy and worked quickly to resolve an issue we had with the heating stove. Absolutely loved this place! Felt remote, yet Camden and other areas of interest were easy to access. I would highly recommend this property.
A nicely furnished and equipped cabin on a hillside meadow in Mid-Coast Maine
The cabin and its location met our expectations perfectly. A quiet and peaceful location, clean and comfortable interior with a a generous deck that extended the living space right to the outdoors. Lots of flowers and plentiful activity at the three large bird-feeders added to the enjoyment of having a cup of tea or coffee while sitting, reading, conversing--or simply relaxing after a day of hiking in the nearby Camden Hills and other recreational areas. We will certainly return if it's possible!
Delighted you had a good time, thanks for your good review!
Had a wonderful time, the cabin is perfect for two people, it's small but doesn't feel cramped at all. Location is private but close enough to Camden if you want to go into town. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen had everything we needed. We had been dreaming of a relaxing trip to Maine for years and this was the perfect location to recharge. Will definitely return in the future
Jennifer, Thanks for taking the time to write a review! Delighted you enjoyed the cabin. Sive
Peace and quiet!
I booked this cabin to have a place mid-coast in order to easily travel north or south. It was perfect for two people. Although compact, everything needed for an enjoyable stay was there, a fully equipped kitchen, no TV (thank you for that!), radio and a varied selection of CD's, comfortable bed, many windows, and mostly peace and quiet. The cabin was very clean and cozy, very welcoming. If I revisit the area, I'll check to see if this cabin is available first!
My boyfriend and I wanted a peaceful little place out in the country, and this was perfect. It's back on a dirt road, so we saw few cars and woke up only to birdsong. Camden is only a 15 minute drive away, though, so we were able to drive to town for fresh fish whenever we felt like it. And with the fully equipped kitchen that was just the right size for two people, we cooked a lot. I'd say the kitchen is the real star of this cabin, although with two porches for watching the trees go by, skylights and windows everywhere for great lighting, and a nice little sound system we kept going almost all weekend, it's hard to choose. We had a fabulous time at an equally fabulous price. I would recommend Sive's cabin in a flash, and we will almost certainly be coming back. A well-deserved five stars.
The Hope Cabin is really quite remarkable. It is so well designed, so thoughtfully put together, and so artfully decorated that you don't feel that it's compact. Instead, it has an expansiveness and a connectedness to the outdoors that makes it a perfect cabin in the woods for those who want to get back in touch with nature. The kitchen is actually very easy for two people to work in (provided they work well together!) and there's just about everything you'd need to prepare a full dinner, as we did on a number of nights. The living room is quite comfortable with a fabulous rocker, too. And the bedroom has two skylights through which you can see the stars at night and the dawn in the morning. The front deck is great to hang out on and watch the deer and wild turkeys and birds in the field - even a bald eagle fly overhead. In short, the cabin is a gem. And we had a great week there in August. We'd wholeheartedly recommend it to friends and family in a flash.
