About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms , 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10-11)

Payette Wilderness Lodge is a luxurious executive log home. This Spring Mountain Ranch home is professionally decorated with the finest in furnishings. When you enter the great room you'll be awestruck by the 20 ft. picture windows with a great view of Brundage Mountain.

Payette Wilderness Lodge is across the street from the golf course, and is a short walk away from the pool/hot-tub/exercise facility/picnic area. The home is also very close to downtown McCall and the lake (about 5 min.) It is near to Ponderosa State Park as well.

There is a large TV (w DVD player) in the great room, and there are TV/DVD players in the master bedroom and the two main bedrooms. The home is equipped with wireless and wired high-speed internet. All TV's are connected to the cable system.

You'll also appreciate air conditioning in the summer (something most homes don't have in McCall.) The high capacity washer and dryer are located on the main floor for your convenience. The full kitchen with marble floors and granite counters will make it easy to feed a large group. Beautiful hardwood floors and New Zealand wool carpet also make quite an impression.

Payette Wilderness Lodge has 2 garages and outside parking for snowmobiles or boats. The outdoor high-capacity gas BBQ is great for grilling.

The home's location in Spring Mountain Ranch is also a plus. Because of the area's natural beauty, you can enjoy the outdoors by simply walking out the door. A walk around SMR is quite a treat in itself. You can play right in the back yard as well! (See picture below.)

Roomy, but lots of stairs

  • 4 of 5

Great place for adults and older children. Lots of room to roam, but lots of stairs. Kitchen well stocked. Washer/dryer combo convenient to kitchen. However, dryer vent needs cleaning as it took 3 or 4 drying times to get towels dry. Upstairs master bedroom was roomy, but warm in hot weather. Master bath OK, but toilet closet area is confining. Air conditioning is a big plus in the hot weather we experienced for the week, but the top floor was too warm unless you kept the air conditioning set at 70 or less. There was a question of whether or not the grill was operable so we did not use it. There was a leak under the kitchen sink, which I do not believe was fixed in the time we were there even though we had called about it. Overall still a good place to gather for the family.

Easy access to all of McCall; quiet,no complaints on beds, nice accomadations, lot of room.

  • 3 of 5

We had 2 families, with grandparents also and had plenty of room.Owner was available to phone calls and found a way to fix problem of the WIFi not working so that was good. Only real problem is that neither of the Jetted Tubs have Jets that actually work ! Also, the kids downstairs said that they were too cool for sleeping even though it was summer temps outside and we actually had air on for upper levels.

Needs a Good Update and Cleaning

  • 3 of 5

This is a beautiful cabin in an amazing setting, but was lacking a few basic comforts.

There were good comfortable beds on the main level and the top floor. What we would really have appreciated were night stands beside the beds. Four of our nine adults struggled to set up C-PAP machines because of the lack of nightstands in any room.

The ground level left a lot to be desired. The sofa bed didn't really have a mattress and the airbed lost air. The kids room with the loft bed was very cold. The seating in the theater room is just worn-out. All in all the bottom level's furnishing were a disappointment.

The dishwasher was very fussy, only working if it wanted to. The fridge was far too small for a cabin advertised to sleep 11. Cobwebs and dust looked to be 3-year's-thick on all surfaces above five feet. Which really amounts to a lot of surface with the beautiful vaulted ceiling. It was questionable when the floors has last been mopped, as our socks and bare feet were gray within an hour of arriving.

This home deserves to have some care. Please give her a good cleaning, functional appliances, night stands and updated furniture on the ground level.

Great Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We had two families with five kids total and we had plenty of room! The 3rd bathroom really helped. The cabin is beautiful and just took us a few minutes to drive to town.

Highly recommended!

Cozy Home

  • 4 of 5

This is a great house! Loved having a TV in every room, it definitely helped with the kids. I would definitely stay here again. Just a few things, the bottom floor is cold so it was very helpful that we brought our own space heater and I would not count on the pull out bed in the couch as there were no more springs and very uncomfortable, but luckily we brought our own air mattress.
