I find myself daydreaming about this oasis often. it was perfect for my family and I. We are incredibly grateful to Mortimer for his hospitality and his amazing home. It was impeccable and even more spectacular than the photos. Annie was also incredibly helpful during our check-in progress and was so flexible as we arrived a few hours later than we intended. Thank you for an amazing vacation by the sea.
Stunning apartment and sea views on the French Riviera
Even better than the pictures. Excellent location very close to the water (no steep steps to walk down to town like many other homes we looked at). There is a path by the water with no cars that takes you to town in five minutes. The home was spotlessly clean and bright with large sliding doors opening to the three sided terrace. The terrace is huge and contains a dining area, comfy seating area, lounge chairs, hot tub and even a small wall waterfall. The lighting on the terrace is outstanding and adds to the romantic mood at night.
The two bedrooms of the main apartment have their own shower or shower/bath and share a half bath in the hallway. The attached studio apartment has a full bathroom and its own terrace with water views.
The owners Mortimer and Patrick were both kind, easy to work with and responsive to our needs.
The area was very quiet at night. The train to other areas was an easy 15 minute walk. We loved the town of Eze, a medieval village with artisan shops and amazing views of the Mediterranean coast. Villefranche-Sur-Mer is an ideal choice as a home base on the Cote d'Azure. It is a charming port village with shops and good restaurants but not the traffic and congestion of Nice or Monaco. We plan to be back!
Better than the photos!
We just stayed here for 2 weeks, and loved the location and the beauty of this apartment! The apartment is spacious and has a yard that goes around 3 sides, so there is plenty of private outdoor space to enjoy. The furnishings are modern yet comfortable. With a few more amenities (more & better towels, a wine decantor, and reliable air conditioning in the 2nd bedroom), I would give this property 5 stars.
As a note, visit le Trinquette restaurant downstairs. They will prepare a delicious dinner for you to take up to the apartment - a great option if you don't want to go out or cook. The proprietors are very friendly and helpful!
The location is magnificent - walks to the beach, port and old town Villefranche are beautiful!
Modern, bright and beautiful on the Mediterranean with fabulous indoor and outdoor space
Prior to arrival, I asked Mortimer, the co-owner, many questions about the flat and the area. He was always very responsive which reassured me I'd made the right decision. We were so pleased to finally arrive and meet Mortimer and Patrick, they are very kind and gracious people. They gave us a detailed tour of the flat and outside area. The inside space is white and bright, with all of the amenities you'll need to enjoy your vacation. It boasts laundry, Nespresso, all modern kitchen appliances, wifi (which Mortimer is currently upgrading), 6 chaise longues, plenty of outdoor seating, gas bbq and an outdoor dining area. We used the hot tub and outdoor shower every day. There's a unique water feature that we enjoyed as well. Being on the second floor, it afforded privacy and an elevated view of the Mediterranean. The beds were both very comfortable and both rooms had sinks and showers, master ensuite with a large bath with a gorgeous view. The area was quiet at night with a sweet little restaurant downstairs to enjoy an aperitif or digestif if you wish. One of the nicest aspects of our vacation was all of the walking we did. We were a beautiful five minute walk along the water to the restaurants of Villefranche and enjoyed this almost every night. While being close to restaurants, we enjoyed being removed from the hubbub at night. We used the train a lot as we wanted to visit all of the towns in the area, too many to name. It's a beautiful fifteen minute walk along the water to the train station. On returning to Villefranche after a day out exploring, we would stop in at the Casino (small grocery store) and boulangerie to restock our food and wine supplies. We felt very safe wherever we went, walking home along the water after dinner was no issue. Mortimer gave us many suggestions for restaurants, standouts being Mirazur and L'Aparté.
I could go on and on but really you should go and experience the charm of the place yourself. We will book again in the future as we fell in love with the place. Hopefully then we can book a day on their newly purchased VanDutch 40. À la prochaine.
Wow! thank you so much for your very nice feedback about our new property.
We fell in love too, and we are very happy that you felt the same and that you fully enjoyed it.
I'm glad to hear as well that you liked the area, the region and the restaurants nearby.
Thank you very being such nice guests, very kind, elegant, autonomous during your stay and on top of that, you are both beautiful ! We definitly do hope to see you again in the future, and next time having an aperitif together :) All the best to you - Sunny regards from the French Riviera, thanks again.
