So the check-in process was terrible. My wife went into the lobby to retrieve the key for our 4:00 check-in in a sketchy back room. Key isn't there. I call the help number and they say, "check the backup key box". Guess what? NO KEY! We gave up after 20 minutes because we had plans with friends.
Fast forward and we are thankful to get into the room but there's only 1 key! This means that your entire party has to stay together no matter what because the key fob is the only way to use the elevator and gain access from the parking structure. Sure enough 2BR, 2BA but SMALL bathrooms. It's an apartment, I get it. Thankfully there were a lot of closets.
We start closing the vertical blinds for privacy. There are at least a dozen blinds missing! No wonder they were open in the pictures. The worst part was the 2nd bed. My wife wanted us in there because it has a direct connection to the balcony that we didn't want our kids to have access to at night. The mattress was quite literally a bowl. My wife and I were laying on top of each other due to the U shape of the mattress. I lasted about an hour before going to the living room sleeper sofa that DIDN'T have bedding! Needless to say we switched beds and just blocked the door. On top of that, when the AC doesn't run, you can hear all of the "city noise" quite easily and the occasional wind sounds that come from a poorly sealed door (and of course the city lights coming in through the missing blinds).
Day 2 starts with swimming and a game of chess on the 9th floor. Good facilities but no foosball for the foosball table. Also, who can play ping pong with the strong winds? We get back from the pool to realize there isn't a single towel hook in the entire apartment! This is for a place that has it's own pool.
Once we got over yet another oddity, we relax before the Cubs/Astros game on the uncomfortable living room furniture while watching stuff on Netflix (no cable) and eat at a wobbly dining table. The wifi was good so that's something. Want to step out onto the balcony? Great views! No furniture. I will say that the kitchen was well stocked.
The last indignation was the checkout process. Load your stuff into the car, leave the garage and park, bring the parking pass back up to the room on the 13th floor, then go back down to the lobby to put the key back in the lock box. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but the management of the property and the obvious lack of pride in the unit showed in a number of ways.
We make every effort to present our home clearly and accurately in order for guests to make informed rental decisions. We would have been happy to answer any additional questions or concerns prior to booking to ensure it would be suitable for your needs. We are sorry you were disappointed. Many guests love this home and we welcome them back year after year!
at a great price.
Look No Further
This place was absolutely perfect for our family. There is a beautiful pool that we didn't get to use but maybe next time bc we will be back! Check in at lockbox was easy. Parking was great, although signage to elevator was lacking. Neighborhood is great and walkable if you don't walk towards McDonalds's but otherwise it's a great central location to everything downtown!
Other than trying to figure out the parking garage and how and where to get our keys from the lock box, everything was good. Great location!
Very Nice Downtown Location
Once we got passed the scary parking garage, we really had no complaints. The apartment was clean with a calm yet trendy decor. There was an awesome view (especially at night). If you are looking for a quick getaway, it is the perfect spot.
Location perfect, nice organized
