Serene Hideaway is a 452 SF apartment located above our residence 6 miles from downtown Truckee, California. The unit has a full Kitchen, Dining area, Bedroom complete with a California King Size Bed and a Living area with a sleeper couch for up to two small children and a big screen TV. There is an elevated outdoor deck with beautiful forest and mountain views and a table and chairs for morning coffee or a quiet dinner. You will sure to spot Deer roaming the area as well as Bald Eagles, Hawks, an occasional coyote and many species of birds and small animals. Our property is on 1.5 Acres in the forest with filtered view of the mountains. There is off street parking and private outdoor stairway entrance. There is a picnic table outdoors for your use, a quiet reading chair that was a former Ski Chairlift and an outdoor fire pit to sit around to roast marshmallows or just enjoy a glass of wine by the fire. The unit is on the 2nd floor with 18 steps to the entrance.
We allow 1 small dog in the unit, as the space is small and cozy. There is a pet fee as described below.
The unit has a complete kitchen including all eating, dining and cooking utensils as well as essential condiments. There is fresh ground coffee, tea and a coffee maker as well as a tea pot. There are towels, sheets, soaps, shampoos, paper towels and toiletries. There is also a fan, ironing board, iron and hair dryer.
We are close to town for shopping, gourmet restaurants, Golf, a world class History Museum and within 25 minutes of beautiful Lake Tahoe, one of the clearest and deepest lakes in the world. We are close to winter snow skiing both Alpine and Cross Country. Squaw Valley, Home of the 1960 Winter Olympics is just 20-30 minutes away as is Northstar at Tahoe and Sugar Bowl. There are 7 more ski areas within 40-60 minutes away. If you are a cross country skier, there are 3 cross country ski areas close by including Royal Gorge. At 9000 Acres it is the largest in North America with trails for every level.
If you are into mountain biking there are hundreds of miles of trails nearby for every level of talent. Fishing, road biking, ice skating, a skate-board park, boating, water skiing, river rafting, mountain and road biking are are close to our mountain paradise.
