15 MINUTES FROM CLOUDLAND CANYON- BEAUTIFUL HIKING AREA
Why Stevie Rifenberick chose Rising Fawn
Our family absolutely loves this area! We are an outdoor family so we really enjoy getting to spend time at the cabin between the craziness of life. Our weekends at the cabin include fishing at the lake directly behind the cabin and across from the cabin. The backyard backs straight up to the lake. We keep our paddleboat, my daughters kayak, and our golf cart at the cabin along with fishing rods and bait. If we aren't doing out at the lake playing we are relaxing in the hammock, using the grill to grill out, or exploring the area. We have really enjoyed exploring and finding some amazing waterfalls, neighbors up the road with horses, tons of deer, and wild life roam around. I would definitely check out Cloudland Canyon's website which is an absolutely beautiful state park on the edge of Lookout Mountain with tons of trails, waterfalls, canyons, mineral formations. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway and some breathtaking scenery this is it!!

Nicely redone cabin.
Mt 2 sons and 3 grandsons had a great guys get away weekend. This property suited our needs well.
Great relaxing place to stay!
The property is beautiful and quiet. Great for a relaxing get away. Fishing was great and relaxing with lots of areas to chose from. Beds are comfortable too which is always nice to not wake up hurting from a less than desirable bed. The neighbor across the road that lives there full time was very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend Thatchers bbq. We look forward to coming back soon with some friends. Thank you again Stevie for sharing your property with us!
Perfect Lakeside Cabin
This was wonderful for our family! We enjoyed staying in The Preserve. We saw groundhogs, turkeys, deer, and rabbits. The lake all around us beautiful. You can sit on any deck and see lovely views. We enjoyed building a fire and roasting marshmallows. The kitchen and baths are roomy and stocked. This cabin became a family favorite and we will return. It was quiet and wonderful!
Nice, but needs some attention
Overall, we enjoyed our time here. The manager was incredibly nice and easy to work with. The location was great for us, away from it all, but still close enough to Chattanooga to enjoy some sights. It was a quiet location even though there were several houses near us. The beds were great and we all slept well. The kids enjoyed the loft area were they slept. The washer and dryer worked well. And it was pretty well stocked.
However, many things need attention. While the inside was very clean, the outside decks were not. The cushions were dirty and stained, cobwebs everywhere, and on one deck, poison oak growing up through the deck. The grill was SCARY! My husband managed to get it to work for 2 meals, but he's very skilled at fixing things. I would not recommend anyone using the grill if they are not a 'fix-it' type person.
The inside is cute, but not very practical. There is NO dining table at noted in the description. I didn't realize this until looking at the pictures closer. We are a family that sits down for every meal and plays board games together, so this was an adjustment. There is a TV in the living room, but there's also one in the loft, right above the couch downstairs. You cannot have both TV's going at the same time or it gets too noisy. And there is not a TV in the master bedroom. There is no shower head in the extra bathroom, only a wand. So unless you like taking baths or have small children to bath, this is not usable for a 6'2 teenage boy. The hill to the back yard is steep! It would be a very difficult Elderly and people with physical disabilities would find this very challenging. And no fun to think about dragging a paddle boat up and down. But it didn't matter because the lake is SO full of seaweeds, we were afraid to take it down because we were afraid it would get all wrapped up in the paddles and there we would set. There is no place to sit and fish (again, on a very steep hill) and you just pull in seaweed. So we didn't spend much time outside like we had hoped. The golf cart keeps dying and is in major need of attention too.
We are used to things not working great or not having stuff altogether in rentals, so we managed and laughed about the most of it. With a little attention, this would be an amazing find! I would defiantly recommend this location, especially because the owner was great! But wanted to point out some things that we didn't expect.
We so enjoyed staying in this cabin. The pictures reflect what the cabin looks like in person. It was very clean and perfect for guests yet I felt like I was staying at my sisters cabin...meaning it had everything you need. Ex: Spices, gas grill, games, movies etc.
We also enjoyed the small lake to take a walk. It would be awesome in summer too. It was still conveniently located to Chatanooga and state park but it was nice to return to the quiet.
We definitely recommend this cabin.
Amazing location and the best hostess around!
The cleanliness and comfort of the cabin were only outdone by the beatiful location that it is set in. Despite a few minor hiccups at the start of the trip to which the owner was MORE then accomodating and super quick to respond to we had the most fun over the long weekend then we've had on any other vacation to date.
I'm so glad you guys had a good time and we would love to have you back in the future!
