Crescent Lake Cabin is a secluded, private cabin on Crescent Creek near the town of Crescent Lake Junction in Oregon. It is the ideal location for a secluded, relaxing, natural getaway, with activities the whole year round.
A recent entry in the cabin guest book says, 'What a wonderful spot by the creek! We started the weekend with ambitions of hikes and canoeing on lakes and then soon realized that the best thing was staying by the cabin, walking through the woods, splashing in the creek, playing with inner tubes, playing fetch with our dog, enjoying the wood stove and treasuring each other's company.'
If you do have ambitions of hikes, canoeing, mountain biking, or exploring in general, there is plenty to do:
At Crescent Lake Cabin, you can:
* Fish from our dock
* Swim in either of two swimming holes
* Float down the creek
* Enjoy your morning coffee with your feet in the creek
* Cross-country ski or snowmobile from our front door (winter only!)
We are also:
* 5 minutes from fishing and water skiing on Crescent Lake
* 5 minutes from Odell Lake for more fishing
* Near world-class mountain biking
* Near the Pacific Crest Trail and other trailheads
* I can provide you with hiking and mountain biking trail guides
* 10 minutes from Willamette Pass Ski Area
* 60 miles from Crater Lake and Diamond Lake
* 1 mile from Crescent Lake Junction, with gas, a convenience store, a burger restaurant, and a tavern
Also, people often ask if there will be snow, and my best response is that I can't predict the weather! The trend is that from November through March, there is a good chance of snow, but it is not guaranteed. In 2014-2015, there was little snow. This winter, 2015-16, has plenty of snow. Also, when there is snow, travel is more difficult, and it is necessary to use the wood stove to keep warm. If this sounds like a fun adventure to you, I encourage you to stay in the winter!

About Mark Rabenstein
I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, especially at our cabin (Crescent Lake Cabin!) For example, in the summer we hike, float in the creek, mountain bike, and fish. In the winter, we ski and sled in the driveway. Professionally, I'm a chemist and a software designer and tester.
Mark Rabenstein purchased this Cabin in 2005
Why Mark Rabenstein chose Crescent
As a kid, my family had a cabin. As a parent, I wanted to give the same to my children. They have grown up visiting the cabin. Crescent Lake Cabin is convenient to us; it is about 1 hour and 15 minutes from where we live in Bend (and the same distance from Eugene!). Also, We enjoy the seclusion of 3.5 acres, as well as being on Crescent Creek. The natural setting is also gorgeous, with the creek, meadows with butterflies, and pine trees.
What makes this Cabin unique
In the summer, we enjoy spending time at the dock on the creek, and playing with the kids in the creek. We usually don't go to the lake because the creek is so fun and convenient! In the winter, we enjoy walking out the door and cross-country skiing.

Everything was perfect. Always a great time at the cabin for a getaway.
Annual New Year's Trip
This was the 2nd time we have stayed at this cabin and again it was fantastic. Although there was hardly any snow this year we still had a blast. We were able to explore the creek and much more of the property due to the lack of snow. We also enjoyed the many supplied movies and games. It was a great time to get away and disconnect from everything. Once again, Mark, the owner was an absolute pleasure to work with. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a seclude escape.
My family and I had a amazing Christmas here. We arrived a day after a snow storm came so there was plenty of fresh snow. The cabin was beautiful and just perfect for the 5 of us and our dogs.
Great place for a little r&r
Went up to the cabin for a few days just me and the pup to get some quiet time for a couple hikes and reading and this place was perfect. Amazing cabin, well cleaned and stocked up. Really nice upgrades done and it was super cool that I was able to see all the work done in the nifty book that was there about the cabin. It was perfect for me and I hope to be able to visit again soon! I really don't have anything bad to say about this place!
Great cabin surrounded by nature!
Our first trip to Mark’s cabin was a success. We stayed 3 nights, played games, watched movies, sat by the creek in the sunshine & played in the snow the next day. The cabin has everything you need and is a great opportunity to “unplug” and enjoy each others company. Definitely will be back!
Needs work but has a good foundation
We had high expectations for this place due to the reviews, price and photos. Unfortunately we were disappointed with several things and actually left a day early.
-shower drained extremely slow so the water pooled very quickly up to your ankles.
-yard was overgrown and had boards with nails sticking out of them laying in a pile.
- too many propane tanks (rusted) sitting on the deck.
- regulating temps at night was very difficult.
- most of th dvds are scratched and don't work.
- the grill is big but kind of a mess. Knobs have no labels so you don't know where the ignite area is. Kind of dangerous.
The place just needs some cleaning and maintenance and it would be great.
Kitchen is well stocked but for sure bring your own knives as the ones there are horrible.
The dock and river is fantastic! The best feature of the place.
Tiffany - I'm sorry that the cabin didn't meet your expectations. I have addressed your concerns as follows:
* The whole bathroom has been redone, so the shower should not be a problem any more.
* The boards have been cleaned up.
* The extra propane tanks have been removed.
* The main source of heat is the wood stove. The temperature was uncharacteristically cold on your visit, so I didn't go over this with you beforehand. Sorry about that. There are also 3 electric heaters.
* The grill has been cleaned and labeled.
As for the knives, good knives tend to disappear. I try to keep it stocked with decent knives, but I will make sure to recommend that guests bring their own.
Thanks for your feedback.
