Why PJ chose Emerald Isle
Emerald Isle is the best family beach in North Carolina. Perfect for kids. Plenty to do, and really quiet in the off season. A small, friendly town, with wide beaches.
What makes this Condo unique
Kayak in the sound, spend the day at the beach, grill out on the lawn, swim at night in the pool. Spend a couple of hours at Fort Macon, or take a day trip to Harker's Island to ride horses on the beach. Ferry over to Cape Lookout and shell and enjoy the historic lighthouse. Spend a day checking out Beaufort, take a ferry ride and learn about Blackbeard's pirating in the area, go to the Maritime Museum (free) and see artifacts from his sunken ship, the Queen Anne's Revenge. Spend a morning or afternoon at the North Carolina Aquarium. Rent a pontoon or motor boat and travel the intercoastal waterway, dock and have lunch in quaint Swansboro.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
PJ, our stay was among the best accomodations we've experienced. Thanks Again for all you did to welcome us< and to keep us safe..:)
We were very fortunate to find this rental as 40% of the rental market is out of commission on Emerald Isle due to a hurricane last Fall. The building and community is aged which is why I think it survived to be open for rental. The sturdy construction held up. Entering is very challenging as the front of the building doesn't have a sidewalk just grass leading to the stairs. The place itself was clean, safe and quiet. Cable was out the entire time so we had no entertainment but this was Spectrum's fault and not the owner. This community is right on the beach which is wonderful and easily accessible. The owner immediately responded to communications or concerns. We would stay again. Thanks!
Great Beach Condo
This is a great location with a short walk to the beach. No need to bring much from home as there is a Dollar General one block away. Also a Publix and Food Lion with 5 miles. We enjoyed the view and the location being central to many activities. PJ was great with info and answers.
Internet speed was enough to stream Netflix and Amazon Prime with no problems.
Great value based upon our other trips.
Thanks for the nice review, Joel. You guys were awesome guests.
Beautiful views! Clean and family friendly
Wonderful space for my teenagers and I! We arrived after dark to find a very clean condo with everything we needed to make a late dinner. I appreciated having a washer/dryer available to take care of laundry while away. Close to so many things to do and just a few minutes from several grocery stores. The pier was fun to visit, watched dolphins in the surf behind the condo, and traveled to Harkers Island Ferry to visit Cape Lookout National Seashore. I would love to return to Emerald Isle with my sons again!
Overall it was pretty good, but what we could not believe was the following: How the shades were torn in that one bedroom. How much would it have cost to have replaced them and not left a bad impression. We considered that unacceptable. Also how those linens were just waded up and thrown in that closet. We have rented many condos over 30 years and have never arrived to see the dishwasher full - and not unloaded from the previous renters. We felt like there was no housekeeping from the previous guests yet we paid for housekeeping.
I'm really sorry to hear of your experience. We had no knowledge that a roller shade was torn until after your stay. I am also sorry you found it unacceptable to have to unload the dishwasher. If you had let me know if any complaints, my excellent housekeepers would have come and replaced the shade or unloaded the dishwasher for you. My apologies. PJ
Spacious and quite
Nice place with plenty of room for the kiddos to play and hang out. Be for warned you will have to walk to public access to get to the beach and walk down a makeshift path in the dunes because all the wooden paths are still damaged from the hurricanes. Dryer is a little on the slow side so give yourself some time when drying clothes or sheets. Other than that I’d highly recommend it
Nearby: Fort Macon National Park, Revolutionary and Civil War fort, NC Maritime Museum with artifacts from The Queen Anne's Revenge, Blackbeard's ship, NC Aquarium is five minutes from the beachhouse. Take a daytrip the Cape Lookout and tour the lighthouse. Watch the wild ponies from a ferry ride at Beaufort. Ride horses on the beach at Harker's Island.
