Overview

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Loft, 3 full baths+ 3- half baths, (Sleeps 12)

This beautiful four bedroom (5500 square foot) home is located just off Galloping Goose ski run (third hole of the Telluride Golf Coarse in summer) in Telluride-Mountain Village. This home features breathtaking views out of each room. The home has a great open floor plan that is excellent for gathering and entertaining family and friends.

On the main floor, there is a full gourmet kitchen, formal dining room that seats eight, breakfast nook seats six and a breakfast bar for three. There is a tv room that has HBO, Netflix, Amazon, and all the cable channels. A stereo system is controlled from the tv room and blue tooth system that can stream music to the great room and kitchen.

Also on the main floor is a large, oversized bedroom suite with a queen bed, a view out of every window, with its own steam shower and bathroom. There is also an office on the main floor with secure wireless internet and a spacious desk to work from. You can simply shut the door and conduct business while your family and friends continue to enjoy the house. The house offers expansive views of the San Sofia Mountains from almost every room on this floor.

On the second floor this spacious home has a master suite with a King bed and a large private bathroom with a steam shower and tub and a tv with cable. The third bedroom suite has a queen bed that looks out to Galloping Goose ski run. Just outside this bedroom is an oversized bathroom with a large tub, separate shower and toilet. Each bedroom is spacious in its own right and allows for total privacy in a setting that allows you to entertain a large family or group of friends.

The fourth bedroom is a junior suite with a queen bed and private powder room. Additionally, there is a large sleeping loft that has four twin beds. The loft is appropriate for tweens or teens as a ladder is the only access point to the loft. In total, there are three full bathrooms and three half bathrooms.

This home makes it easy to come in from skiing midday if you need a break during the day. It also makes it easy to have lunch back at the house. Chair 10 and Chair 1 are right below the house. You simply take a small hill down on Galloping Goose Ski Run to the lifts 10 and 1. The location makes this house ideal for parents or kids who like to ski, but cannot quite ski a full day, because it is so centrally located to the runs that most beginners ski on.

After skiing you can relax on the deck with a drink of your choice and enjoy the sunset or take a Jacuzzi in the spacious hot tub as the kids build a snowman in the yard.

During the Summer you are on hole number 3 of the golf coarse.

This home on a quiet street, has private parking, front and back lawns, private hot tub, and game room with pool table, foosball table and TV. The house has many board games and books to choose from.

Free Mountain Village dial-a-ride is included to all markets, restaurants and the gondola within Mountain Village.

About Patricia

The house was built by us with entertaining in mind. We wanted a place where friends and family could gather in a beautiful but comfortable and casual setting. We designed the house so everyone could enjoy the house but also have a large private room to retreat to and relax when they wanted.

Patricia purchased this house in 2001

Why Patricia chose Telluride Area

Telluride is uniquely beautiful and we fell in love with it the first time we came in 1989. We saw the rest but decided to build this house at the best ski resort. There is rarely a lift line, the people are friendly, and the restaurants are exceptional. It is a small ski town with big city restaurants and shopping.

What makes this house unique

In the summer you can walk onto the golf coarse, hole #3 is right outside our backyard. In the winter we are 75 yards from Galloping Goose ski run. There is an alpine ski trail that is groomed that takes you to the ski run to ski for the day or you can snow shoe up the ski run.

Great pre-Christmas ski trip

  • 5 of 5

Several years ago my family starting renting homes for our family vacations. Our family of 4 sometimes brings girlfriends and friends along, but this time it was just the four of us. So while the house was larger than needed it is a beautiful place in great condition... the best of any of the homes we have ever rented. The house is located on the Galloping Goose run and is probably 100 yds from that actual run ... it requires a little bit of poling on ski's to get to/from the run, but nothing too strenuous at all. Inside the home has a beautiful timber frame look that is very open. We had fun playing pool on the lowest level and enjoyed congregating in the den after a day of skiing. We ate out every night, but the home had the set up and all the pots/pans/outdoor grill etc. you'd ever want for a large meal at "home."

The owner stores their car in the garage, leaving plenty of room for a single 4wd to park in the heated garage and turn around to exit the driveway. It would be challenging to have multiple cars at this residence in the snow .... the drive is steep enough that you don't want to back down it and there is not any room outside the garage to get another car out of the way.

The wifi and "home office" area were great for me as I had at least 2 hours a day of keeping up my obligations to the working world. The TV's were the only area where our family's habits were much different from the owners ... at home we have many HD flat screens with all the DirecTV channels and this home had basic cable (I think) and standard definition TVs. For this time of year that was zero issue because our sports teams weren't playing, but it was something some renters might wish for more at certain times of year.

This was our first trip to Telluride and it is one of the best, least crowded ski resorts we have ever been to. This home seems typical of the many beautiful large homes you see alongside the slopes on this mountain. It is a beautiful home in a beautiful place .... we hope to come back to it one day soon. The owner of the home also seems to be a very nice person who is very reasonable to interact with .... I don't see how anyone renting this home could come away disappointed.

Great family destination

  • 5 of 5

There were 10 of us. Grandkids, grandparents and parents ages 4 to 72, and this home had room for all. It was fully stocked in the kitchen and all other rooms. The floor plan was extremely comfortable with a place for everyone to relax or kick back. It is a very large home. It met all our needs. The setting is beautiful. We enjoyed watching the deer.

Great House for skiing and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful house. We have stayed in Telluride for Spring Break fro many years with our children growing up skiing. This house had the best view that we have seen. The ski in/ski out was great as well. We would highly recommend this house and we would stay there again.

perfect family getaway

  • 5 of 5

We recently rented this spectacular home for a family ski trip over New Year's. Our family of 5 was joined by our close friends and their kids - for a total of 2 couples and 7 children ranging from 10-15. We had decided to find a really nice home, with ski in/ski out access and this rental exceeded our expectations. First, the home itself is absolutely beautiful - great architecture, tons of room, well designed and comfortable to hang around. In addition, it was really well cared for - I've stayed in VRBO homes before where you can tell the owners are just trying to grab some rent and don't really invest in the property. This home was totally clean, incredibly well stocked not only with the basics but with lots of kitchenware and basic goods that it was so nice not to have to supply ourselves. The location is amazing...a short walk with your skis to one of Telluride's runs...so nice not to have to get in a car to enjoy the skiing. And when we had one small issue to deal with, the owners were totally available and responsive and solved it quickly. If you are looking for a home to rent where you are guaranteed to walk in and say "wow, this is exactly what we were looking for," this is the home for you. We wouldn't hesitate to rent it again.

I've had the privilege of staying in this gorgeous house in both the fall and winter. I love this place! The house is the perfect spot for hanging out and recharging after all the outdoor fun. There is just something so peaceful and relaxing about this place.

The hiking is great, just walk out the door and you're close to trail heads.

The skiing is phenomenal in Telluride and again, just outside the back door. This place will spoil you for anywhere else.

The kitchen and dining area are both really nice if you want to stay in and eat. But if you want to head out on the town to find one of the many great restaurants, you don't have to drive to get there! It was so nice not having to worry about who was driving home after a night on the town!

Transportation was just a phone call away for a ride to the gondola and then into town. A nice market, restaurants and shops are close by in Mountain Village as well.

We used a shuttle from the airport to the house and never needed a car once we arrived.

The house itself was very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, it felt luxurious to stay here. The photos do a good job of showing the house, it's beautiful. The view is nothing short of spectacular. I want to go back!

Mountain Paradise

Telluride is one of my favorite places on earth and the accommodations at this beautiful home make the stay here complete. This home is luxurious and comfortable. It has something for everyone, no matter the season. It is ski-in / ski-out, close to hiking trails, and offers breathtaking views. One of my favorite memories of this home is getting up early in the morning before anyone else and relaxing in the sitting area with a fresh cup of coffee, looking out at some of the most fabulous mountains I have seen. Life is hectic and complicated and this retreat from the world is just what is needed to rejuvenate anyone. It has all the amenities you would ever need and then some. I just can’t say enough about this place and I am looking forward to the next opportunity I get to visit.
