Wonderful First Experience in Rome/Monteverdi
Franco and Carla are such sweet and thoughtful hosts. We were greeted with big smiles and a very warm welcome. They sat with us and gave us thorough details of our chalet and the area. Franco remembered all the little details of our trip from my emails and answered all my questions as well as giving us excellent recommendations. The set up is great! The charming Chalet is in a garden behind the family building. It’s small but cozy. We had fresh fruit, homemade Lemoncello, biscuits, homemade jam and drinks. Monteverdi is a very nice non-touristy neighborhood. It was quiet which was nice after spending hours in the center of Rome, but it is also located very close to Trasteverse which is a lively part of town. Overall, it was a lovely experience and I would recommend it to travelers who like a little adventure.
Beautiful home and incredible hospitality!
We spent four glorious nights in Franco and Carla's garden chalet. The property itself is pristine and oozing with charm. We particularly enjoyed private access to Franco and Carla's beautiful garden. We will remember fondly eating breakfast among the lemon and orange trees, alongside golden retrievers Tosca and India.
Most memorable of all, however, was Franco and Carla's warmth and hospitality. They greeted us upon arrival with snacks, juices and an enthusiastic welcome to Rome. Our chats with them about their lives in Italy, their beloved Roma soccer team, and their recommendations for the rest of our travels were some of the highlights of our entire trip! Thank you, Franco and Carla, for your kindness and for sharing your home with us!
Cozy, peaceful stay in very green, residential area
For a girls getaway weekend, my friend and I had the most wonderful time staying at Franco and Carla's cute garden chalet. They were so welcoming and fun to chat with and provided such delicious homemade goodies (thank you again for that!!)--it was like coming to visit family or old friends! The chalet itself has everything you need and more. We thought we might be a bit a cold at night, and use the provided heater, but we didn't need it at all. The layout and color scheme has been so thoughtfully put together--better than any hotel room I've ever seen :) And the garden --it is just breathtaking. We spent much time in the garden with prosecco and cheese, surrounded by the gorgeous flowers and fruit trees , feeling as if we were in the middle of the countryside. Their house is so close to Trastevere, yet you are away from all the tourist chaos. Also, you don't actually need to leave the area for a mindblowing dinner or gelato or a coffee--Monteverde has so many good restaurants just a few minutes walking distance. We'd definitely stay here again!
Beautiful oasis in the middle of Rome!!
We were welcomed by Franco and Carla and felt immediately at home in their cozy chalet. Franco gave us so much wonderful information and guidance to use during our stay in Rome. They are both the ultimate hosts who were very helpful and a great start to our Roman adventure! Thank you for making our stay and our journey to Rome an unforgettable experience!! We will highly recommend you to anyone who asks for a recommendation!! You're the best!! Your Canadian Friends, Laurie and Sherry
Care L. and S. for us was immediately a feeling like meeting two dear friends we had not seen for some time. Two beautiful and sunny women, full of curiosity and desire to know new places. This is the true spirit that travelers must have. I really hope to meet you again. It is too easy to be an host with some guestes like you two.
A warm hug.

Cute Chalet in backyard of Franco and Carla’s home
Franco and Carla were very accommodating host, they gave excellent recommendations for restaurants, sites to see, and things to do. Their chalet was small but had everything we needed. I strongly recommend going to the open market on Sunday’s and the borghese garden. Only negative is there is limited hot water.
Dear friends thank a lot again for your stay with us and for your nice and useful comment.
We use a 60 lt. electric thank for hot water becouse is not racomanded hav gaz powered equipment in the chalet. It has the same size we have at home and usually it's enough for our confort showers and kitchen needs. If you told me the first day I setted the boiler to an hight temperature.
Hope you're enjoyng your Italuan trip and wish to meet you again. Greetings from all us (dogs included).
Charming property and people!
Generally v nice, and Carla and Franco are lovely and extremely helpful. Sweet little extras like homemade limoncello and marmalade make it very special.
The only little downside was that it was a little chilly (but it was November) - and I would suggest perhaps an extra heater in the room just in case?
I imagine it is a real delight in the warmer weather and I’m sure we’ll be back to try it!
Mille Grazi ragazzi!
Dear Mark tanks for your kind comment. I'll put all my attention to your feedback about the inside temperature and I just set the heater few degrees wormer. In this way you can enjoy your stay also in winter time, but, of course, spring, summer and autumn weather is absolutelly yjr brst time to spend the holiday in our garden in the city. Hope to meet you again, with J. too and be sure you two will receive a special attention, just to fix the small problem occourred. Meantime think to us drinking Carla's Limoncello. We'll have it togheter when you'll be here again.
Greetings. Ciao. Franco, Carla, India and Tosca
