The apartment is just two minutes from the Old Bridge,
in Guicciardini Street, direction Pitti Palace, in the third gallery on the right, the palace where Machiavelli house was situated. It is a very quiet, inside apartment.
It is located on the Oltrarno side of the river, with a perfect location for shopping and sightseeing.
It is few steps from the Pitti Palace and the Boboli gardens, the largest park in Florence.
In the gallery is situated the most famous ceramic shop that is a showroom that introduces the art of Tuscany ceramics. Their ceramics, fruit of the job and the hands of the man on the earth, is rich of colours and shows the same fruits and plants that make this region so loved and admired. Between their typical products, they have oil bottles, cookies box, wine jugs and other ceramic items to use or for decoration.Mery, the owner, make the design for the collection anything is made by hand and painted by end, each piece is unique

A wonderful convenient place to stay...
Mery Barrasso is helpful and kind. She arranged taxis, dinner recommendations, and shopping excursions...The apartment is through a courtyard and the gates are easy to open. After walking into the apartment building there are two short flights of stairs to the one person lift. The apartment is located on the third floor. Remember in Europe floors begin with zero. After the front door is unlocked one steps into a well appointed entry way leading to the living/dinning room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. The rooms are spacious with much storage. The kitchen has all of the necessities including a washing machine which we used. The bathrooms a good sized shower, toilet, bidet, and sink. Hot water is plentiful. Plenty of bedding and towels and a hair dryer.
The apartment is close (within a few steps) of grocery shopping, fresh produce store, restaurants, and transportation. Even though the street is busy with tourists during the day, everything is quiet at night. The neighborhood is safe for walking . Walking to all of Florence's major attractions is very easy.
This apartment is highly recommended. Our stay was from 12 to 19 of October, 2017. By the way we are a married couple in our middle 70's..
Central location, spacious and quiet! And nicest owner ever.
You really can’t beat this apartment’s location. Steps from the Ponte Vecchio Bridge, it’s in the heart of a bunch of cute shops and restaurants, yet somehow provided a quiet retreat from all the noise of the city.
Merry was extremely responsive and flexible with our schedule—she is just so sweet. Everything you could wish for from someone you were renting a place from! The room we were supposed to rent was not ready for us, so she upgraded us to the three room apartment at no extra charge. Both Merry and the place were amazing!
The apartment itself had everything we needed and more. Three large bedrooms, two bathrooms and a very comfortable bed. You can walk to EVERYTHING, and in a short amount of time. We even walked to and from the train station, on the north end of town, with large heavy backpacks no problem.
I would recommend this place to anyone I know looking to stay in Florence. We just wish we had more time there!
The apartment was clean and well set up for doing cooking, washing, etc. Mery was a delight, warm and caring. The apartment currently has work being done on the outside, so when you look out the window, all you see is tarps and scaffolding. It was the only downside about the apartment. The bed is very comfortable. It is very conveniently located and an easy walk from the train station. Makes a great base. I would recommend you ask about the outside work before booking unless no view works for you. I would book here again.
We (2 adults and 2 teenagers) spent one night in Mery's apartment. While it is very well located, it is a bit outdated and could totally use a makeover. It was clean, the kitchen had the necessary condiments for an overnight stay. We came by car and really struggled to find parking in this area. Make sure you look into it before coming by car, we wasted precious hours trying to park nearby and ended up parking quite far away...
Property is old which many properties are in Florence, but the upkeep needs improvement. The shutters on the windows do not work we could not get out to the patio. The AC didn't work either and it was hot. The location is very good so only being there for one night was not bad.
Very nice spacious apartment, great location!
The apartment was spacious and comfortable and we loved the location. The Oltrarno area is very quaint with shops and restaurants and we were close to the Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens as well as right by the Ponte Vecchio bridge. Everything was within walking distance and we didn't use public transportation at all in Florence. We cooked several meals in the apartment and it had everything we needed. Both the bedroom and the sofa bed were comfortable and the bathroom was modern and functioning. The only thing to note is that there are many stairs to get to the apartment but there is a small elevator that can fit 1 person with a suitcase. After a long day of walking, we even fit 2 people in the elevator once (tight fit). Mery was a great host and even left us a bottle of wine to enjoy. I definitely recommend this apartment to anyone staying in Florence.
