About the property

3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, 1 half bathroom, sleeps 6

New luxurious log home conveniently located in the heart of the Rockies. Designed to encourage you to drink in the awesome majesty of the Rocky Mountains. The home is built of hand crafted logs to create the perfect mountain home with all the comforts and amenities. When you have saturated your soul with the beauty and tranquility, enjoy some of the many outdoor activities. Mountain biking, hiking, snowmobiling, snowboarding, cross country and downhill skiing - and just pure relaxation. You will love the porches: one for morning coffee or tea and one for unwinding in the afternoon. The perfect escape from the stresses of life! We love our log home and the peace and serenity so much we wish to share it with others.

Our home is only 6 miles from the Winter Park ski area; Rocky Mountain National Park 30 miles; Grand Lake 25 miles; Pole Creek 18 hole golf course 2 miles.

Log Home Living: What could be more appropriate than vacationing in a log home in the mountains - with all the amenities we modern day people require. The home was hand crafted: each log cut, skinned of its bark and carefully chiseled to fit together in the same manner the pioneers used. Granite and marble countertops, Missouri red cedar hand made dining table and accessories, antler chandeliers, a wood burning fireplace and soft cushioned furniture all enhance the natural look. The heating system is done through the tile floors making it incredibly cozy.

Summer Activities: Great exploring by Jeep, horseback, ATV, mountain bike or on foot. Rocky Mountain National Park has miles of breathtaking view after view and opportunities to see wildlife in their natural state. Pole Creek Golf Course is ranked 18th in the nation. Winter Park ski area has many summer activities including the Alpine Slide. The auto road to Corona Pass is a step back into the days of railroading 100 years ago. There is also great trout fishing in the Colorado River.

Winter Activities: Winter Park Ski Area has 3,060 ski able acres and received 365' of snow last season. Lift capacity is 36,920 skiers per hour. Cross country skiing has become very popular. Snowmobiles are rentable in Fraser and in Grand Lake with more than 150 miles of groomed trails in the Grand Lake area alone. There are sled dog rides, sleigh rides and the tubing hill in Fraser - a must for all children young and old!

An amazing place!!!!

  • 5 of 5

A dream vacation home for those who like tranquility, a beautiful setting on a spacious lot!! What a unique log house!! The owners, agents and other helpers made us feel welcome immediately. We felt like being in Canada or Sweden. The 20' drive to Winter Park Base was no bother, coming back from skiing was a treat. Floor heating added to the luxury. We have 2 active boys (4 and 10) who loved it as well. Groceries and shopping are 10 minutes away, so eating out was not an option: we liked to stay at the house, to cook our meals and to enjoy the house and the scenery.

Words cannot describe this stunning home

  • 5 of 5

Everything about Russell Lodge exceeded our expectations (which were already high, having seen the photographs). Ashley was a pleasure to deal with, the place was spotless when we arrived and every aspect (furniture, beds, appliances, underfloor heating etc) was of the highest quality and comfort we have ever encountered in many years of traveling all over the world. The cabin itself is a work of art and the landscape is so breathtaking you feel like you are inhabiting a gorgeous painting. This was without a doubt the most beautiful place we have ever stayed in. It was a special privilege to experience this magical place. Thank you Ashley and family!

An amazing house in an amazing neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Russell Lodge for a week thie summer. The house was amazing and it was like having your own home in the mountains. The amenities we great and everything we needed was there. Our 7 year-old boys has a blast just walking around the property and exploring for stuff. Out of the back porch you have an unobstructed view of the Devils Thumb ridge line. Not to mention the wildlife you can see just sitting on the porch. From the house you have easy access to Fraiser/Winter Park and Grandy.

The owners were great to work with and were very helpful. We would certainly return to the Russell Lodge either in summer or winter.

Gorgeous Home

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home the week before our sons wedding in Colorado. It was a great place to entertain in. We hosted the rehearsal dinner in the front of this lovely home and everyone commented on how beautiful it was. Plenty spacious enough to sleep 6 people and the beds were amazingly comfortable. We took walks in the cool mornings and the guys golfed in the afternoon. We went into Grandby and found a great place to eat called the Brickhouse. {only a 10-15 minute drive from the house} We saw a red fox, deer and hummingbirds while sitting on the back porch. I highly recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a well equipped beautiful home in the Fraser WinterPark area. Ashley, the granddaughter is a delight to work with and communicates easily with you about the reservations. Thanks to the owners for allowing us to share this great home!!!

This home is even more magnificent in person. We were very impressed with the home's size, craftsmanship, and beautiful views from every window.

The property is amazing! You can see the mountains in the distance and the home sits on a stunning meadow with a lovely pond and wild flowers. The views are gorgeous. We spent the majority of our time outside. We enjoyed coffee on the back porch every morning. We enjoyed the outside patio area for dinner and playing cards and loved the firepit for making s'mores.

The home was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed to make our own meals. There is a grocery store nearby, which makes it easy to prepare your own meals. There are also many restaurants to choose from both in Fraser and the surrounding towns.

The home is very convenient to an abundance of summer activities. Winter Park is about 10 minutes away. We spent one afternoon riding the Alpine Slide at the Winter Park Resort. There are plenty of hiking trails nearby as well. We also rafted the Colorado River (through Red Tail Rafting) and went horseback riding (through the YMCA of the Rockies at Snow Mountain Ranch). We visited Grand Lake and Georgetown as well.

If you happen to be there on the 4th of July, the festival in Fraser is great! They had games and bounce houses for the kids as well as food and the best fireworks show we have ever seen! The festival is about 5 minutes from the home.

Ashley (the rental agent) was so easy to work with. She answered all of our questions thoroughly and even checked on us to be sure we were enjoying our stay.

We would highly recommend The Russell Lodge.
